Stopped by Jersey Mike’s Subs in Horseheads, NY for a quick dinner, and while the visit had an unexpected twist, the food definitely made up for it. I always seek out both taste and experience—this spot delivered one in full and left room for improvement in the other.
I went with the #65 Portabella Chicken Cheese Steak—and it was delicious. The grilled portabella mushrooms paired beautifully with tender chicken and melty Swiss cheese, giving the sub a rich umami depth that I wasn’t expecting from a fast-casual chain. The sandwich was satisfying and flavorful, living up to Jersey Mike’s reputation for freshly sliced ingredients and solid subs. I ordered the regular size on rosemary parm bread, which added a savory herbaceous touch—definitely recommend upgrading your bread.
However, the dining experience hit a snag. The restaurant had a noticeable issue with its exhaust system, filling the indoor seating area with smoke. It created an uncomfortable environment, so I opted to take my sub to go. A shame, because the beach-themed decor and relaxed Jersey Shore vibes make for a charming dining space when everything’s running smoothly.
If you’re passing through Horseheads and craving a hearty sandwich, this spot’s still worth a stop—just maybe check if the kitchen’s clear before dining in!

This was one of the best restaurants I’ve ever eaten at! I had a chicken bacon ranch sub, it was super delicious . Their food was real, good, healthy stuff! I’d definitely recommend coming to Jersey Mike’s Subs if you are anywhere near it.

We ordered Jersey Mike’s through Doordash. This was our first time trying them out because of a friend’s recommendation. It didn’t take long for the delivery, and we were pleasantly surprised at how good they were. Lots of meat and toppings. The bread was perfect as well. We will definitely eat there again! The only downside we found (and I’m sure it’s just because we went through Doordash) was that we couldn’t substitute the cheese from American to Swiss.

Stopped in for lunch today, shortly after the lunch hour. Had gotten the original Italian, Mike’s way. Very, very tasty!! The sandwich was professionally prepared by a very pleasant crew.
While I ate, I noticed the crew were in the process of cleaning EVERYTHING! They did this between customers. This is a very clean establishment with great subs and a very nice, welcoming crew.

Me and my boyfriend usually come here once a week but his sub order got mixed up with someone else’s the person that gave us his sub had the tickets switched when we got home the sub he got had less meat and had pepperoni when he ordered a 56 with extra meat extra cheese and bacon the worker who handed him his food did not pay much attention to what subs she was handing out and tried to multitask poorly please be sure your workers hand out subs one at a time or double check that the tickets they put on the subs are correct

The man that made my sandwich. His disgusting attitude crossed over into my sandwich. I ordered a sub to go. By the time I arrived home. They put so much oil and vinegar on the sandwich. It was soggy. I called and spoke with management and they said that’s how they make their sandwiches. The bread was extremely mushy unable to eat. I asked for a refund the manager said no. Put me on hold and never returned to the call.. He also said, next time I come. Don’t get the oil and vinegar.
Very unpleasant experience and made excuses for their failure to properly make a sandwich. He was confident in the fact that this is how everyone’s sandwiches are made. Soggy and unable to eat.
He was also speaking to another employee while I was on the phone. Never asked me to hold. Left me on hold and never returned. I hung up and decided to leave a review.

First, the Mini Original Italian is my go-to. It’s perfect size and I get it “Mikes Way”. The subs are fresh and insanely good. Not only are the subs delectable, the customer service is phenomenal. When I say phenomenal, I mean the type of service that we all miss and yearn for. The type of service that says, “you can take all of my money!” The type of service that you instantly ask yourself why you put up with miserable service elsewhere and really question your life choices. So go there and go often!
