This restaurant is located in the back entrance In the mall honestly only a few choices remain in the back food court. The problem is the food is sitting under a heat lamp for a lengthy period of time.I have purchased food here several times. The food is dry and sitting out.In my opinion they should lower the rent to get more options in this area. The people are nice it is just the location and minimum foot traffic

Surprisingly delicious. I don’t have the money and nothing I loved the bourbon chicken spicy and regular. The vegetables were really really good. They’ll give the Panda Express or run for their money no doubt. The gentleman at the counter was very helpful, I’ve never eaten there before, but I believe I’ll be going again.

The food was very good. I had their pepper chicken. It was spicy but not too spicy, and the flavor was good with big pieces of chicken cooked very well with little bits of good char on it. Their shrimp was also very good. It’s fried in the shell so it’s tasty and crunchy. The food was hot and ready and the old lady that served me was very nice. They give you a LOT of food for what you pay for, I paid 11 bucks for chicken, noodles and an egg roll l. The egg roll was a little small but the amount of noodles and chicken is very very acceptable for the price. so overall it’s a good bang for your buck when you’re on a budget and want some good Asian adjacent food. 8.75/10

I’ve been going to Cajun Grill in Gurnee Mills for years, and they never disappoint! The food is always fresh, tasty, and consistent, and the prices are great. The staff are very friendly and incredibly hard-working — you can tell they care about their customers. Always a great experience every time I stop by!

HALF OF A TOOTHPICK WAS FOUND IN THEIR MEAT. PLEASE READ.

Kelly’s Cajun Grill has been one of my favorite restaurants since I first discovered it. However, this will be the last time I eat from there. I ordered Take-Out about two weeks ago and was eating the leftovers a few days later when I felt something unusual in my mouth while I was chewing the food. I thought, could it be a bone? But, Cajun Grill meat doesn’t have any bones in them. To my horror, it was HALF of a toothpick in my mouth. I never experienced something like this before.

I contacted the Lake County Health Department Environmental Health services and they did an inspection on 03/07/24. This is the voicemail they left me: “we did a full routine inspection, we didn’t find anything out of the ordinary as far as like contaminated food but we did find that sometimes when customers are walking up to the facility allows them to a sample of product I think it was the bourbon chicken and they use toothpicks for those. I know from the complaint that that was like a piece of wood may have been in the food…”

In conclusion, they could not do anything about this issue. If the employees use toothpicks to provide samples to the customers, wouldn’t they notice that the toothpick they used broke off while picking the meat and so they should remove that meat or cook a new batch of meat if they couldn’t find the other piece of the toothpick? Human error corrected. My concern is, it wasn’t corrected.

The Lake County Health Department don’t realize the severity of the situation. They didn’t even ask for pictures! If I swallowed that toothpick, it could have punctured my organs, caused internal bleeding. It could have been fatal. I always ask myself, what if my order was for a child?

I don’t want my restaurant to be shut down, but I don’t want anyone else to experience something like that.

Ordered the cajun shrimp combo, sides: fried rice and egg roll. Regretted it instantly. They do not devein their shrimp and the egg roll was stale.

Food tasted good , charged $1.95 extra for the vegetables. Customer service can be better with a welcoming attitude.
Located in Gurnee Mills mall food court.

Didn’t like the food at all. The one chicken was too sweet like sugar, the rice smelled only oil and tasted the same. The meat was not tasty at all. Disappointed. Priceless. If I could return $35 back I would totally do it.

The bad breathe/ moth balls smell is actually coming from the food shop (ramen) that’s left of this place. Sincere apologies for my earlier postings about bad breath

This food is only good when it’s freshly made. If it is 2 hours old or older, everything becomes kind of average or yucky…
