What a great find—and definitely much needed in this city! I was surprised they serve menudo and birria soup every day. The menu has plenty of options beyond the usual tacos and burritos. The menudo could’ve used a bit more salt today, but it was cooked perfectly. The regular tacos were huge, and while the crispy tacos were a little mild, they really came alive once the salsas were added. There’s also a free chips and salsa bar inside. Overall, it’s a great quick-bite option compared to the surrounding fast-food spots—the food here actually tasted like a real taqueria.

A California Burrito opened up recently in Folsom. It took over the old Carl’s Jr building ext to Sam’s Club on Iron Point Road. They didn’t do much to pretty up the joint. It’s still has the sad, rough around the edges look. Bare minimal cosmetic changes to convert it to a California Burrito (a fast food franchise).
I went through the drive thru. It’s a simple one person, one window drive thru. Nothing fancy. The drive thru menu board was simple as well, old fashion signage. It was lit up at night in an easy to read color and font size for even my old tired eyes. The cashier was fantastic. She was patient and helpful. Super attitude. The food came out hot and fairly quick. The containers of salsas were nicely chilled.
We ordered two crispy shredded beef tacos $3.95 each, 3 rolled tacos for $7.30 (aka taquitos))and a mini taco$3.25 (aka street taco). The crispy taco shells were fried, not store bought. Out of the bunch, the lengua street taco was my favorite. The meat was seasoned and cooked nicely being tender but not mushy. It was packed with flavor. The red salsa and green salsa had a mild kicky spice.

I went through the drive-through so I am rating the atmosphere on the well laid out menu board. Yum, yum, yum it was breakfast time and I was in the mood for a bacon burrito and they did not disappoint. In my opinion one of the best breakfast burrito’s I have ever had. It was generous in size, super hot and very flavorful with both a red and green sauce on the side to add if desired. I can’t wait to try their other burritos on my next trip to Folsom!

First time here. Sorry, I forgot to take photos. I had the rolled tacos (aka taquitos) with guacamole. They did not skimp on the guacamole. I also got a ground beef taco, well, because sometimes you just want a ground beef taco. It was pretty hearty as well. Could have used a little more seasoning though. The salsa bar has a good guacamole salsa, but the chips were a combination of fresh and not so fresh.
Overall, I can see coming here rather than taco bell, which is next door. They have different options.
