The Nantucket Lobster Trap does not disappoint!! We each got a lobster dinner, mine boiled, her’s stuffed, and it was delicious!!!
The lobster was nice and fresh, already dissembled for ease too. The french fries are also really yummy! The perfect crunch and coating.
Well worth the price to enjoy a comfortable and delicious lobster dinner.
We walked in, saw a number of tables empty, a number of tables that needed bussing, and plenty of tables still occupied enjoying their meals and chatting it up. The hostess, who was sitting there on her phone, greeted us like she was curious as to what we were doing when we walked in. “Table for 2 please” She says, “hang on” – walks to the kitchen, leaving us standing there confused. Then she comes back and says, “We can seat you, obviously, but the food won’t be ready for like an hour or more because our kitchen had like a meltdown or something. So what do you want to do?” She made it very clear we were not welcome. SUPER RUDE. Mind you – there are VERY few walk-in restaurants on the island. Without a reservation somewhere else, turning us away meant we were literally wandering the streets looking for a place to eat dinner. And worse, what was so super disappointing is that we had been walking by this restaurant for days, each time stopping to look at the menu posted to the window and dreaming about what we were going to order when we went. We were so excited to go – and to be basically turned away was such a terrible let down. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR THIS REASON ALONE
If the kitchen really had a problem, send your manager or your chef out to explain politely. Also, bus your damn tables. Filthy
We arrived right when the restaurant opened at 5 and were the first patrons to be seated outside. Fresh, hot, delicious bread was promptly served before we ordered dinner.
The corn on the cob is ridiculously fresh and the red bliss potatoes are a perfect compliment to the 1 lb lobster I ordered. The hubby got the surf and turf special and enjoyed it as well.
They did have bacon wrapped scallops that where awesome. So we didn’t leave hungry but we won’t go back for Lobster…
