Best meal on Nantucket! My mom and I stopped by right at 5 when they opened, looking forward to a nice lobster dinner.

The Nantucket Lobster Trap does not disappoint!! We each got a lobster dinner, mine boiled, her’s stuffed, and it was delicious!!!

The lobster was nice and fresh, already dissembled for ease too. The french fries are also really yummy! The perfect crunch and coating.

Well worth the price to enjoy a comfortable and delicious lobster dinner.

Awesome food! This is a great dinner spot and everytime we walked by the patio was always packed. The free cornbread was amazing, we also liked the clam chowder and the lobster. The fried food platter we had was pretty good but they just kind of mixed everything together so you couldn’t really tell what you were eating. Also it was pretty reasonably priced for seafood on Nantucket so overall we enjoyed our meal.

Really bad experience – summer help is hard to find I guess – not recommended. Don’t waste your time or money.

We walked in, saw a number of tables empty, a number of tables that needed bussing, and plenty of tables still occupied enjoying their meals and chatting it up. The hostess, who was sitting there on her phone, greeted us like she was curious as to what we were doing when we walked in. “Table for 2 please” She says, “hang on” – walks to the kitchen, leaving us standing there confused. Then she comes back and says, “We can seat you, obviously, but the food won’t be ready for like an hour or more because our kitchen had like a meltdown or something. So what do you want to do?” She made it very clear we were not welcome. SUPER RUDE. Mind you – there are VERY few walk-in restaurants on the island. Without a reservation somewhere else, turning us away meant we were literally wandering the streets looking for a place to eat dinner. And worse, what was so super disappointing is that we had been walking by this restaurant for days, each time stopping to look at the menu posted to the window and dreaming about what we were going to order when we went. We were so excited to go – and to be basically turned away was such a terrible let down. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR THIS REASON ALONE

If the kitchen really had a problem, send your manager or your chef out to explain politely. Also, bus your damn tables. Filthy

The Nantucket Lobster Trap offers a casual, New England-inspired dining experience with fresh, high-quality seafood. The menu highlights lobster in dishes like lobster rolls and steamed lobster, along with other seafood options like scallops and oysters. The atmosphere is cozy and laid-back, with friendly service and rustic decor. It’s a great spot for seafood lovers looking to enjoy a relaxed meal with a true Nantucket vibe. A must-visit for anyone in the area!

My favorite restaurant in Nantucket! Can’t visit without making a stop at the Lobster Trap.

We arrived right when the restaurant opened at 5 and were the first patrons to be seated outside. Fresh, hot, delicious bread was promptly served before we ordered dinner.

The corn on the cob is ridiculously fresh and the red bliss potatoes are a perfect compliment to the 1 lb lobster I ordered. The hubby got the surf and turf special and enjoyed it as well.

Just outside of the main area of town you will find the nice and unassuming restaurant. As the name implies it has plenty of delicious seafood plates and many other things to choose from. I went with the fried shrimp which was perfect. Nice and hot on arrival with an excellent crispy batter. The beer was nice and cold on a very hot day when we were there. Staff was friendly and service was on point. If your out for some Nantucket seafood and a cool drink. This spot won’t disappoint.

We sat in the dining room that was off for the bar. The bar looked very ruckus and like everyone was having a good time was relatively quiet enough to eat anyway, and the staff from Croatia and couldn’t have been any nicer! Great experience

We had lobsters for dinner and they where terrible, neither one of us could finish them. They seem to have been old, not fresh…
They did have bacon wrapped scallops that where awesome. So we didn’t leave hungry but we won’t go back for Lobster…
