The food was excellent — truly impressive by European standards. The Dover sole and the spaghetti pomodoro were my absolute favorites; both dishes were spot on.
Service was super fast and attentive
The ambiance on the other hand was a disappointment
While the vibe was casual and cozy, it didn’t quite match the quality of the food or the price point. They need a serious facelift on the decor.
But I’ll definitely be going back.
Must Have:
Fried Shitake Mushrooms, Pecorino Tartufato
Beef Meat Balls, Fresh Pomodoro Sauce
Grilled Mediterranean Langostine
Sweet Corn Agnolotti
Lamb chop
The classic Italian restaurant you don’t expect to find in Los Angeles staffed with Italians from Italy.
Fun fact : We got a very early dinner reso and Al Pacino was seated beside us. Apparently he is a regular there.
every time I visit your restaurant I am pleasantly impressed with the food but every time we have problems with the service. please take care of your staff and the service of a restaurant of this level should be much higher, or we will stop coming to you
I took two stars from you for your service. we have visited your restaurant 5 times and every time we have had problems with the service
I had the Lobster Ravioli, which was very fine and delicate. The pasta tasted fresh, and the lobster with spicy tomato sauce was a lovely pairing. It was a little light on the portion (luckily, we got the bread and could ask for more). Overall, it is a delicious entrée. My friend had the penne with langoustine but wasn’t overly impressed. The penne was hard, and the langoustine didn’t seem seasoned. The sauce was very liquid, and there was too much of it. For about $45 for each of our pasta dishes, it felt a bit much.
I had the Mille Foglie for dessert, and my friend had the tiramisu. They were $18 each, which is a bit much for dessert, but they were both delicious.
The service was excellent. The servers were very attentive and welcoming. The location is small but beautiful. We decided to eat outside as the weather was nice enough. It’s nicely secluded/hidden from the main street, which adds privacy.
All in all, we paid $110 each for a two-course meal and a half (since we shared the appetizer). We had a bottle of sparkling water and no alcohol. It’s a bit pricey but quite typical for LA and especially for Beverly Hills and so close to Rodeo Drive. I had a lovely experience and would definitely eat there again!
At e Baldi, however, the atmosphere is defined by arrogance from both staff and patrons. The room is filled with pretentious, self-important people who seem more interested in performing their status than enjoying a meal. Conversations are loud, manners are nonexistent, and the staff mirror that same dismissive, superior attitude. It’s an environment that prizes exclusivity over hospitality.
The food itself was thoroughly mediocre uninspired dishes that don’t begin to justify the ego surrounding them. When both the service and the clientele are this unpleasant, even good food would struggle to shine; here, it simply doesn’t.
For a restaurant charging fine-dining prices, e Baldi delivers none of the refinement, respect, or charm that defines true luxury dining. Los Angeles has plenty of Italian restaurants that offer genuine hospitality without the attitude, I’d recommend spending your time and money at any of them instead.
Food is amazing, service is excellent, and the atmosphere is great. How can you not like Al-Pacino’s go to Italian restaurant.
Don’t miss out on the heart of palm salad, the Branzino, and the Pastas.
