We’re travelling Scotland from Australia and this has been our best meal of the trip, 10/10 best pasta we have ever had!
We ordered the Bruschetta al Pomdoro for entree which was delicious. This was the only dish we remembered to take a photo of before we devoured it , we then had the Traditional Lasagne and the spaghetti con Aglio, Olio e Peperoncino.
The food was to die for, we’re changing our plans just to eat here again tomorrow night. Thank you so much for a lovely meal and experience. Please please visit this restaurant!
Our server didn’t seem to understand Scots Leid, or very much English once we changed how we spoke and tried to be very clear. Most of the responses we got from him were “ok”. My boyfriend tried to ask if he could use the £8.50 for a pizza and pay the rest, as he ordered a pizza which was larger. However the server took this as LITERALLY larger so we were charged £3.50 more than intended for the pizza.
We ordered bruschetta al pomodoro which was packed with tomatoes, and we were overcharged by £0.05. Check my receipt and the photo of the menu! It’s not really so much of a big deal, but it’s the principle that counts. We didn’t bring it up because we just wanted to leave.
My pasta with mussels was very nice, and I was happy with it! My boyfriend also got a Merlot wine which he enjoyed, though it tasted cheap, but it was a big glass for the price, so we can’t complain.
The atmosphere was… awkward to say the least, with servers just standing staring at us.
Overall this place has good value for money, but I am unsure if I would return.
The waiter was friendly.
The atmosphere is cute.
The restaurant is not managed by Italians.
When we asked why, this Indian guy said that the menu changed and the new menus were arriving tomorrow.
Total bull, especially since when we tried talking to the lady waiter instead, she said it’s a sitting price. They could not even get their stories right.
After complaining, the Indian guy just tossed two pounds on the table and told us to leave. Absolute rubbish and scam.
Check my photos, the price on the menu for lasagna is 6.20 and the price for fish and chips is 6.50. But in the receipt they charged 6.50 for lasagna and 7.95 for fish and chips. They didn’t even blame it as a tax.
The pepperoni pizza was 5/5, loaded with cheese, make sure to ask to extra pepperoni if you like a meaty pizza.
The chicken arrabbiata was 4/5, really nice tomato sauce and the chicken was cooked well, super juicy and delicious.
The aglio e olio sadly missed the mark.
We ordered mozzarella sticks, minestrone and Lasagna!
I am so glad that I tried it. It is budget friendly and authentic!
It is run by a family as it may appear to me. I definitely recommend it.
