We visited this place after our visit to Washington on the Brazos state park. The two people there were very friendly. Service was great. We felt welcome and valued. The lady told us to move the tables around outback if we wanted to our liking. We were told about hula hoops and corn hole game. We played some while waiting for our food and some after.
We ordered sliced beef sandwich. The brisket was moist with bark and delicious!! I was not impressed by the sides.
They have about 8 popular flavors of bluebell ice creams. Wish they had peach cobbler the reviewers were raving about.
There is a little gallery of a local artist called Ray.
Absolutely love the friendly causal and welcoming vibe of this place. We would definitely be back.

The pork chop dinner is quite costly. Moreover, I feel that although the pork chop is tender, it lacks additional flavors and appears dry. Maybe I can suggest adding a topping of blue cheese butter or goat cheese butter, accompanied by another dish that goes well with the apples. The service provided was excellent!

Got lucky to get a table after dropping in. The food was so good, the staff was super friendly and the atmosphere was nostalgic. Be sure to call for reservations and to make sure they are open, it is a seasonal place.

Great place! Wonderful, rustic environment. Great food! Warm, friendly environment. Get to see the neighbors and meet new people. Randy and staff are all friends and neighbors. A block down from Washington on the Brazos which has to be one of the most beautiful state parks.

Really cool place. Had a fantastic dinner on a Saturday night with live music. Solid wine list. The owner, Randy, really does a great job of cultivating a special experience. I highly recommend R Place!

We had an awesome time here after visiting Washington on the Brazos. The owner is super friendly, food was delicious, the kids enjoyed playing outside and feeding the donkeys. We then went back to the park and returned afterwards for Blue Bell ice cream. So glad we found this place!

Love this place. Food is always delicious. Service is great. Saturday night dinners are always fun especially when they have live music. A small intimate spot out in the country. Reservations are required for Saturday nights.

We were with a private party, and this place ROCKS! The food was great, staff was friendly and SO accommodating. Go, see, relax, and revel in some great Texas history. The guitarist/singer was so good and amazingly versatile!

Read about this place on my google maps app. Walked in at 1230 on a Sunday morning my wife and I were the only ones in the place. was greeted by the owner who is a jack of all trades( chef, bar tender, historian.) we had a chicken salad sandwich, sausage sandwich, German potato salad, the Mac and cheese and two teas.. All was very good and well worth the 23 bucks… we talk to the owner of the entire time who treat us like old friends.. had good conversation a good meal and a history lesson to boot.. stop by this place is even if you’re not going to Washington on the Brazos. it’s always the little back road joints that end up being some of the best places to eat!
