We have been purchasing Honey Baked Ham for the holidays and every day meals for 30+ years. I remember waiting in long lines out the door in other states prior to moving to Virginia. I remember way back when the store associates would uncover the front of the ham to see if it met the approval of the customer.
We were pleased when the Honey Baked Ham store arrived in central Virginia. We have purchased all our hams at this location. Service and store associates are top notch.
What is not top notch are the hams. It has become hit or miss. Today’s purchase was a miss, one of several, and one too many.
Sometimes we get one that is just like the one on their homepage and other times it’s full of gristle. The ham I purchased today was for my elderly in laws. When I unpacked the ham at home, I was so disappointed; full of gross fat in the center and gristle running throughout. No one wants that on the holiday table. Instead I carved out what I could to salvage a meal. I ended up with about 3.5 lbs of “pieces.”

Very poor customer service when I stopped by today and was the only customer in the store. I was made to wait about 15 minutes as 2 employees talked on phones and then went to the back to slice the ham. Should not take this long to pick up a container of ham salad and 1 lb of slices. Not what I have experienced in other honey baked stores in other towns.

They have amazing food. The sandwiches are top tier. The customer service however is absolutely terrible and horrendous. Extremely argumentative and gaslighting. No type of greeting or acknowledgement when you walk in. Very dismissive of customers.

Accidentally showed up ten minutes to closing (unaware of their new hours) and the staff was extremely kind to me regardless and made my order without hesitation/reservations (or at least none that they expressed to me)!

New experience at this tucked away shop. I picked the honey ham sandwich because how could I not? It was delicious!
The cashier was very friendly, recommending favorites, and it was a definite winner.
The only problem is that this is the only store in town, and it’s a bit of a drive for me.
I’ll make the trip.

I ordered and they realized that they didn’t have Mac and cheese. I asked for the $4 refund. Was offered 2 bags of chips to add to the one I already ordered (which realistically doesn’t make sense). I again just asked that the Mac and cheese be refunded. They gave me receipt and I waited. I realized that they had refunded the entire order. I brought it to their attention and he offered to place a new order. They hadn’t started on the rest of my $24 order. Deer in the lights reaction. It was very odd. Polite but inefficient and I didn’t get lunch on my break. So thanks!

Somewhat plain decor, but the sandwiches are wonderful. We both had the HoneyBaked sandwich, which was really delicious. The bun tasted freshly baked and all the ingredients were fresh. Their honey mustard adds a nice touch. Very clean, and they have ample parking. Their primary business is sell whole and half hams that are honeybaked. They also sell chicken.

As we don’t always like to cook, we decided to cheat and order a ham and smoked turkey from the Honeybaked Ham Company for Easter! I placed my order online set the day I wanted to pick up! My order was ready & I was in & out! The food was awesome, and We didn’t have to do alot of cooking for Easter! Honeybaked ham Company definitely a win!
