The appetizer dish Escargot de Bourgogne tasted good, but the escargots were too small. The presentation for this dish was a bit peculiar, unlike any of the same dish in other French restaurants.
The steak dishes came with house salad and choices of either pasta, french fried, red rice or bread. We chose french fried (really crunchy) and baguette (hot). The steaks were ok.
The restaurant was fairly busy on a Sunday night so it was really noisy, not the calm elegant atmosphere we were expecting.
Service was ok though our water glasses weren’t refilled.

It was Valentine’s, I wanted to take my wife to a nice French restaurant but one of the reservation failed through, luckily I remembered this place that I took my girlfriend (my wife) 22 years ago. We both remembered this place, we didn’t know it’s still there after all these years since we never came back after we got married and moved.
The Google booking system is amazing, we got our confirmation right away. My wife was happy to come back to our first date years ago.
The restaurant is small, plenty of parking spaces, we came early because we went straight after work, we found the parking right away.
This is called French VN fusion restaurant, it’s kinda like our favorite Le Colonial in SF but closed after 26 years in business.
We’ve been in Paris and tried quite a few restaurant there, we like escargots, steaks and ducks, but we still think the fusion restaurants taste as good or better.
The service here is so attentive, pleasant and happy, we liked it right away after all these years. The decor is quite nice IMHO, quite simple and not very pretentious.
So, French restaurant the escargots are a must, this place doesn’t use the whole snails instead using the out-of-shell meats, with a little bread in a cup, kinda different. The important thing is the tastes, the meat is quite soft and flavorful, we both liked them very much. The bread dipped in the sauce is quite tasty.
Everywhere we went, we love crispy calamari, and this place is excellent, the calamari is crispy but the meat is tender, the sauce are just plain tartar and cocktail sauce, they should make their own special sauce for this then it would be better. We finished these in a heartbeat.
The salad is included which is nice. The dressing is just right, I think it has a touch of fish sauce in it, very nice.
The main course, the #15 and #16 that we can hear people are ordering. we order both because we forgot what we ordered 22 years ago LOL. Actually both sauces are almost tasted the same, but my wife thought her pepper corn sauce tasted better than my Mushroom sauce. My wife likes the hot crunchy bread and butter instead of my red rice. They’re both excellent eating with our sauces.
The steak is tender and does have texture, it’s the sauce that counts.
The prices here are quite reasonable. We will come back here again to try different dishes when we’re craving for another romantic outing event. It’s not just the restaurant, it’s how we love each other. When we’re in love, everything is romantic and taste great LOL.

Personally I didn’t like their food, but this restaurant has been in business for decades.

It has been a while since I last visited here. Seems the ownership changed again. So different than the original restruant. Food was just OK, I had the grilled pork chop vermicelli bowl, my cohort had a grilled pork chop with egg and rice. They were both OK, nothing special. The original owners had special menu items especially the beef onion rolls, not on the new menu.

Every dish is amazing, complimentary salad plate as starter. Mushroom steak is my favorite, main course always comes with tomato rice or tomato elbow macaroni. Fish sauce Chicken wings is very interesting, very crispy. Good service, very reasonable price.

French and Vietnamese cuisine you need to check out in Milpitas! chezchristinabistro offers a variety of dishes such as rice plates, pho, sizzling plates, appetizers, desserts, and so much more. My favorite was the sizzling steak. The steak came out perfectly and it was chef’s kiss. I also enjoyed the pho and chicken wings. Next time you’re in Milpitas, check this place out!

This is our first time trying a blend of Vietnamese and French restaurant. We enjoyed it so much as it’s something new and unique for us. They have appetizers like escargot, entrees like steak and seafood. Definitely curious to try the other dishes so will come back for sure!

Definitely a hidden gem. I am wondering how I didn’t try them out earlier. The cheese crab, lamb, chicken in mushroom sauce, the calamari fritters and the prawns in lemon pepper sauce were all spot on. I am going back again soon to try the rest

I was next door and seen this restaurant on my way to my car. I am so glad I did. It was a great experience. The service was so refreshing and a lost practice that I haven’t seen in quite some time. During a time it’s expected to feel rushed, not treated with any regard, or just lacking genuine respect and standards at most places. This was the opposite of that. The atmosphere was very comfortable and I want to say relaxing…. which is so rare to me. The employees were very attentively kind. There are really cool photos and articles displayed. With artistic cultural furniture pieces that I was admiring. Looks like they’ve had a prominent history I didn’t know of. Food was fresh and well prepared. Had soup tonight and can’t wait to try more dishes! Very good over all experience. Thank you!

Last time I ate here was in the 90s. It was good then and it’s still as good now. Place has been remodeled to look more elegant. Tables are neatly covered with white butcher paper and folded paper napkins are flanked by steak knives and fork. All an illusion to make the overall dining ambiance feel high end but affordable. Well, it remains a hole in the wall with flavorful entrees that should satisfy most guest of asian heritage. The staff are friendly and somewhat accommodating. However, language and communication is a bit challenging so be prepared to be specific when ordering your food. The name is French but a far cry from Michelin star caliber food and service. Expect comfort food that’s not pretentious. Lots of deep flavors that’s down right exciting.
