My favorite local coffee shop! Service is always fast and friendly. Their espresso is excellent, the featured drink menu is always fun, and it goes without saying that the scones are to die for! Location is in a strip-mall-type plaza with plenty of parking.

Cute little coffee shop with good coffee, gluten free options, and friendly staff Website menu states they don’t charge extra for non dairy milk but they actually do. I was not refunded when brought to their attention which was disappointing, but that won’t keep me from going back.

When in Pinehurst, stop at Pinescone Cafe, at least once! They have various scones on the menu; from sweet to savory, something for everyone. Personal favorite is the Blueberry White Chocolate or Cranberry Orange. Scones are definitely freshly baked, and bursting with flavor. It’s great that they cater + the option to buy frozen logs of scones to bake at home!!
Coffee is pretty on point as well! They offer some in house specialities and of course your classic cup o’Joe.

I went there for the 1st time today because I was given a gift card and I’m so glad I did because the Carmel latte & rise and shine scone was delicious. I wished I could have dined in but I had to get to work. I will definitely be back with my family.

Pinescone Café is such a cute little spot in Southern Pines, and I really enjoyed my visit! They have a nice variety of scones, both savory and sweet.
I tried the jalapeño cheddar scone with ham, eggs, and cheese, and it was absolutely delicious—fluffy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced with the salty kick. I’ll definitely be back for more of the savory options!
I also picked up a variety box of sweet scones, and I have mixed feelings. The good part is they’re not overly sweet, which I love. But for me, the flavor leaned a little too salty, almost like they used salted butter or a heavy pinch of salt in the dough. It created a bit of a clash with the sweetness, and my taste buds weren’t quite sure what to make of it. That said, taste is subjective—others may really enjoy that unique twist!
Overall, the café is charming, the savory scones are fantastic, and I’ll definitely be back to grab another one of those jalapeño cheddar scones.

Love Pine Scones! They have an amazing array of gluten free scones! You can even turn them into breakfast sandwiches! And their coffee and teas are delicious. I would recommend the jalapeño cheddar scone for a savory one, and the cinnamon chip for a sweet one. I haven’t been able to try them all, but I’ve had three or four of their flavors and there hasn’t been one that was anything less than delicious.
