Bright eatery offering familiar sushi & Japanese rice & noodle dishes in a cozy atmosphere.

Really cozy and small place. We got Omakase for two and I think it could have been a bigger selection and portion for $112, we didn’t even get local crab or lobster which we were excited to try, next time if we go we definitely would select our own.
The seafood was super fresh and yummy, our fav was the scallop nigiri. The roll was ok. ✅ we also got Gyoza and it was def hand made and delicious.

Surprisingly good sushi restaurant in downtown Rockland in midcoast Maine. We’ve been regular diners in Rockland for many years but had never been to Suzuki’s until this week. The selection was excellent, including some original local touches (e.g. local ). Per tradition the chefs prepare the sushi at a bar in full view. The atmosphere is casual (like most of downeast Maine) and it’s not too loud. The service was very friendly, accommodating, and attentive. And, of course, the food was delicious. Be sure to call ahead as it’s busy all year round. We got a reservation, and we’re very glad we did, as it was at capacity even on a Saturday in early December, which is not a busy time of year in Rockland, Maine!

Absolutely lovely and wonderful! The raw tuna ceviche appetizer with yuzu dressing was incredibly fresh and delightful. The nigiri with tekka roll special plate was perfect. The fish and seafood were absolutely fresh and tasty. I so much appreciated the nigiri with the lobster topping as I felt that this was a poetic addition to being on the coast of Maine (I’m from New York City, so this delighted me a lot).
The atmosphere is well curated and feels very comfortable. The staff is super-friendly.
Reservations are highly recommended. I had called ahead and left a voicemail and received a callback to confirm the time.
Thank you so much for the delicious meal.

Really nice place with excellent quality ingredients for the sushi. We went as a family and ordered some mixed sushi platters and a miso soup. Everything was delicious, the miso soup a bit bland, but that is how they are. I recommend getting the mixed plates when you like all kind of seafood, as they are put together based on the daily availability.
It was highly recommended to us to get a reservation in advance and we tried getting one through the automated phone call service they have. We called from a Swiss phone number, as we are visiting from there. When we didn’t receive a call back we went by (we stayed in the area) and they said they don’t call back international numbers and there is no other way to reserve from far away. For us it worked out in the end and we enjoyed a very nice evening!

Lovely experience, no complaints whatsoever. A thoughtful ambiance, calm and enjoyable even with a busy restaurant. The fish itself was of incredible quality, and every bite exceptional. Truly look forward to returning, a 10/10 evening. Thank you!

The food was amazing, but The unfortunate reason I gave them 4 stars is “people ordering take out.”
The staff is very small and they had a huge amount t of take-out orders coming in.
I had to wait a long time to have service.
Once I made my drink order I had to wait 15 min in before it came to the table.
My food came at a reasonable time once the orders slowed down.
I recommend this place but I suggest having reservations.
The second time when I took my wife . Our experience was 10 times better. The service was quick and friendly. We got to the restaurant when it just opened so we had first dibs on seating. The food does not disappoint. Absolutely amazing!. I wish that they had a bit more help when they do get busy. I know at the time of us coming here, the middle of winter…I quess it’s hard to find help and customers are kind of unpredictable.

Just AMAZING. WE LOVE WOMEN! This woman-led restaurant offered so many great options. The Chef’s Pick (Omakase) was amazing. Very diverse pic of sushi with plenty of sweet to savory flavors.
Now. The dessert. Arguably some of the best I have tasted in awhile. The chocolate Mousse cake was AMAZING. Quite literally to die for. What seemed like a strawberry pudding mixed with a milkshake flavor was a light and yogurt-y with wonderful garnishes on top.
Overall amazing experience and a huge thumbs up to Keiko!!!

Exceptional! You can’t get sushi fresher than is, no matter where you go. Ordered the Omakase and was not disappointed. The chef outdid herself creating the most beautiful rolls, sashimi, and nigiri. It was almost too beautiful to eat. Absolutely gorgeous presentation, delicious food, attentive staff, creative plates – beyond what you could hope for. Extensive wine and sake list as well (although didn’t partake.) Will definitely return!

My husband and I went out for date night. Our plans were to go elsewhere that evening; however, sushi came to mind for my husband, and he immediately took us to Suzuki’s. The restaurant is very small. I do recommend that you call ahead and make reservations. They were able to take us without a reservation since we came before they became busy. I personally do not eat sushi, but my husband love’s the sushi they offer. I did notice they have a takeout service, which is pretty convenient. Their food is delicious and packed with so much flavor. We both ordered a miso soup, which was good, but the broth was different than what I am used to, and they add shitake mushrooms to it. We also ordered a side of edamame. I ordered a house salad which was absolutely delicious. My husband and I plowed through that it was bursting with so much flavor. I know my husband ordered one of the specials, which was eel. I think that was his favorite. I’m not sure of the other sushi dish he ordered. My main dish was chicken teriyaki. Although the chicken was a little overcooked, the flavor and combination of vegetables made up for it. There were so many veggies in my dish and a few I’ve never had let alone heard of before, like a watermelon radish. The house made teriyaki sauce was so delicious. My taste buds were dancing. Don’t let the bowl size fool you. I thought it was small initially, but that bowl is deep and packed with so many goodies. There were new veggies surfacing the further you got down in the bowl. One of the best chicken teriyaki dishes I’ve had despite the chicken being a little on the dry side. We finished our dinner with a delicious chocolate cream cake. That was divine. All in all, this is a place I would definitely go back to with my husband and order the same dish. The service was excellent, and the presentation was perfect. 5 star restaurant in my book.

Amazing, as always. We are so lucky to have such great sushi right here in Maine. We ordered the chef special and Keiko stepped in to make this amazing creation. I’ve never asked if she has a plan every day for these or just makes each one up to order, but either way it’s always delicious, unique, and seasonal.
