Had the chicken Alfredo, absolutely delicious! You can tell everything is homemade and made to order. Will be back

I got the carne asada and it was very good, the flavor was excellent. I thought that the portions were great and it was very filling. It was also noticeable that it was freshly made and everything was homemade. Would highly recommend, was a great road trip stop for me!

We were in search for an authentic Mexican restaurant in the area. Stopped at a few places and didn’t have the atmosphere we were looking for, then we stopped at Maria’s because she was very friendly and it looked authentic. They had many options on the menu and they prices were great. Definitely recommend and make sure to try the barbacoa tacos!

Traveling thru Carlsbad, came upon this spot in the road….KEEP driving, the food looked great but was bland and warm, not hot and looking freshly made…we were the ONLY people dining, waitress was very hard to understand, and her service was horrible,.she leaned on the cashier table and played the staring game with me, meanwhile my husband put the empty chip basket on the edge of the table along with his glass needing to be refilled..and she did nothing. Wouldn’t budge til she heard the bell(order up)… brought the food to the table and we had to ask for refills and more salsa…salsa never came, she asked about the tip when we paid for our order .. my husband said we left it on the table… We barely made it out the door before she ran to get that dollar1$…

This was our first time here 5.29.22 Sunday. The food was okay, there isn’t much of a selection even though it is a buffet, you get the basic Tex/Mex favorites just made differently. My parnter & myself had ordered the Menudo. It was good nothing amazing & nothing less. If your looking for a quick bite this is the place.

No longer La Regia….I know Carlsbad folks are desperate for eating places but avoid this one!!! All lights were off I guess to save energy since no one was here. Food tasted OLD like it had been sitting in the refrigerator for days. Credit card machine didn’t work so I had to go across the street to use the ATM and pay $3.95 to get money to pay for the fuss awful food. I see a place that will be up for rent very soon!!! Avoid this place at all costs!!!

Our family enjoyed some authentic homemade Mexican food at La Regia after our trip to Guadalupe Mountain National Park. Our server (Paco) and kitchen staff were super friendly and made us feel welcome at their restaurant. The red salsa that came with the chips was deliciously spicy and all of the food we ordered was very good!! The rice & beans that came with the plates we ordered were some of the best we’ve had. The beef (carne asada) was a little too tough and had to be chewed on for a while, so was hard to eat. The food was also extremely greasy so it was delicious but difficult to finish the meal. Overall, we recommend trying out this restaurant if you live in Carlsbad or are visiting one of the many tourist attractions.

Soooo good, and cool in a chill way. The food is fresh, delicious, and large portions. They made a retro building modern, clean, and welcoming. Great music & comfy chairs. They went out of their way to make my partner an incredible vegan burrito with veggies, tofu, avocado, and sauce. Super nice staff.
