My wife had the salmon. I had the Carne Asada and both were absolutely delicious. Great value happy hour is wonderful. Service was great food was top-tier rice and beans and meat and goodness this is not to miss out here in Bonsall Fallbrook.

First Visit – Impressed!
No wait time. Visited on Taco Tuesday — the tacos were delicious, and the chips and salsa were spot on. What really stood out was the service. From hostess Lily to our server Alyssa, everyone was professional, attentive, and on top of everything. Constantly clearing tables, checking in — just solid hospitality all around. We’ll be back!

Delicious tacos, chips and guacamole! I had a carnitas taco and my friend had the salmon. So GOOD!!! Sat outside because inside was busy and a little loud for conversation. Definitely will be going back soon.

I normally really love this place and the service is really amazing all of the time, but I ordered the chicken tortilla soup. The recipe wasn’t changed, but the presentation was and it did seem like there was a lot less. It changed from a bowl of soup with avocado fanned out on top and tortilla chips beautifully scattered around. Now it looks like a boring cup of soup. I hope you change it back.

Delicious food and friendly wait staff. We had Javier who was awesome! Bottomless chips and salsa! (Woohoo!) We got the Calamari which was perfectly crispy and flavorful. The taco salad with Carne Asada was a big portion and also delicious! The tacos pictured were the el pastor and short rib, both were incredible and packed full of meat! Can’t wait to come back here!

Personally nothing about the meal seemed particularly memorable. The sauce was pretty good in the tacos. Enchiladas were alright. However the service was good and the food was filling.

My 2 Item Combination Plate, with a chile relleno, birria taco, rice & beans, was tasty. The large fresh Pasilla chile had a light egg-coated covering, & was filled with a ridiculous amount of cheese. The Relleno was topped with a bright red & tasty sauce. The Birria Taco was pretty good, as well. The Z South chefs weren’t at all skimpy with the meat inside. This taco was served dry, with slow-cooked beef, onions & cilantro, packed in a fresh, soft corn tortilla. A mini metal bowl of Birria Consome rested on the plate, & when I poured some liberally into the taco, it dumped out, like multiple mini-Birria waterfalls, during each bite. Good thing their cloth napkin was absorbent…Yeesh!
Rice & Beans were just OK…rather ho hum & bland, IMO.
Service to our table was inexplicably slow. Our server wasn’t overly-burdened with too many tables, & yet it was a lengthy wait to get anything we requested, including extra water- when both our small water glasses were empty, or drinks-it took an inordinately long time to get my Negra Modelo & my wife’s Margarita & lastly, the check, when we were done, & ready to leave.
I thought the chips & salsa were tasty, but the mild red salsa we liked best, of the 3 different ones they gave us, was in a tiny bowl & ran out too quickly.
The food was reasonably-priced here, I thought.
Z South has a nice long, slender outdoor patio, should you desire to eat outside. We’ll definitely come back here again, but we’ll just hope for improved service next visit.
