Great food, a step beyond the normal country restaurant. Burgers are excellent with the meat being the star of the burger show. Cajun platter served on Sunday had fried shrimp, fish, crab cake, hushpuppies, and crawfish gumbo. Everthing waa very tasty, the fried fish is the best!!! Strawberry cake is a must!

Halfway point to meet some family and decided to have dinner. All of the food was fantastic. Had the catfish, beef tips, and chicken fingers. Also tried the chocolate sheet cake, bourbon pie, and coconut pecan cream pie. All the desserts were so good! Everyone was very friendly. The food is definitely fresh and homemade. We will come back for the next meeting!

When we stopped in for lunch, we had no idea that this restaurant had been featured on Discover Oklahoma and owned by a chef from the DFW area. (We found that out after the fact.) The menu changes weekly, if not daily. The staff was friendly and attentive. When we arrived, we were one of the only ones there but tables quickly filled up. The samples of the daily soup were fantastic. I ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken with mashed potatoes and side salad. The breading on the chicken had a unique flavor that paired nicely with the gravy, and I truly enjoyed this meal. Mrs. Flip Out had the fried chicken club sandwich and agreed that the fried chicken had great flavor. Little Flip Out and Littlest Flip Out shared their kids burger and they loved it. We didn’t save room for dessert but the options sounded great. The atmosphere is very warm, comfortable, and it’s easy to see why this place is a local favorite. Definitely worth the stop!

We very much wanted to LOVE this place. We’re not from the area and were hoping to find a local treasure.
The food was definitely good – and seemed as though it was all made on site (not just heated up food from Sysco). Homemade chips were really delicious! Super friendly and attentive staff. Chef Rodney even popped over to chat. We had the steak . . . quite tough but the flavor was pretty good. Took dessert home and really enjoyed the coconut Carmel cheesecake-y option. I imagine lunches are the best.

You’re going to love the food, atmosphere, and folks running it!
Located on main street in Marietta, The Taste is a family run business.
We were welcomed at the door and had a pleasant lunch with great service.
The quality, and taste, of the food was far beyond my expectations.
The atmosphere is decorated with antiques and feels a little like going to Grandma’s for dinner. Very nice and relaxing.
Go once and you’ll go again. We did!

A truly unique and excellent restaurant. The food is exceptional. The staff are very friendly. The atmosphere is nice and inviting. This has quickly become one of my favorite places to eat. Highly recommend. Pictured is the Chipotle Pulled Pork sandwich with homemade chips, dessert, and pics of the inside of the restaurant.

The people are great.
You should definitely stop here ASAP.
Edited to add – Chef Rodney, what treats? I didn’t bring any treats home to “share.”

This place is amazing, from the service to the food. If you are going through Marietta, it is a must to try this wonderful restaurant. Also make sure you try any of the desserts! I would give more stars if I could.

I don’t know if there’s treasure on Oak Island, but there is certainly hidden treasure in Marietta, OK. It’s “The Taste,” a masterpiece by Chef Rodney. We had pulled pork tacos, the best pulled pork we’ve ever had — and we’re from Houston. Black bean soup and beef stew were equally perfect. The restaurant is clean and comfortable; restrooms immaculate. And chef Rodney is just a good guy. If you’re ever driving between Dallas and OK, DON’T MISS IT.

I was so excited to try the Taste but unfortunately Thanksgiving dinner was very disappointing! Some of the food was cold, service was extremely slow didn’t even offer any drinks until we were almost finished eating. I have to say one and done won’t be back☹️
