Food was great. Tortilla chips were served very warm and the salsa was top notch. My wife ordered Lunch Special #1. I had a tilapia dish: El filete al mojo de Ajo that came with rice and a salad. There was enough to take home for another meal. Our server, Angelica took good care of us We plan to eat here again.

El Dorado Mexican Restaurant is located in the old Pizza Hut location next to Matthew’s Nissan and Walmart on Highway 76 in Clarksville, Tennessee. While it seems there is a Chinese restaurant or Mexican restaurant every few feet in Clarksville, El Dorado is now my favorite Mexican restaurant. If in Nashville, try Los Palmas for the best Mexican food since El Chicos is no more.
Since El Dorado Mexican Restaurant occupies a newly renovated space, the restaurant was extremely clean as expected. I liked the interior design and choices. It is a smallish space with Dunkin Donuts occupying the other half of the building. The service was good but not great, which is somewhat understandable as El Dorado was newly opened when I visited.
Where El Dorado shines is their food quality and choices. First off, the obligatory chips were served warm, unlike most restaurants. In addition, the salsa was served cold as it should be with a faint kick of heat. Thoroughly enjoyed the chip and salsa. The menu was huge, offering the staples of Mexican Restaurants and including several rarely seen offerings. For what I tried on my first visit was the Chimichanga, which was deep fried correctly and as intended. I also tried the Alambres, a concoction of sautéed onions, bacon, shredded cheese, and steak. The onions were served sliced too large and needing a longer saute. It still was very good to my disbelief. One other thing, El Dorado serves Pacifico beer on tap or bottles. While this seems trivial, Pacifico is one of my two favorite beers. If you haven’t tried it, give it a shot.
Mexican restaurants are like pizza places. Everyone has a favorite and think any other place besides their favorite sucks. If you haven’t been, try El Dorado Mexican Restaurant. You may have a new favorite Mexican restaurant soon.

Food is great! But I came with my wife and my 3 month old to get a quick bite to eat. Keep in mind I haven’t ate all day. I was grateful for the food. A Grade. But service started decent but felt like they either didn’t want to be there or they were rushing to get out. I am in the business of hospitality and sweeping at 830 when you close at 930 is a no no. Not near people eating. I just felt rushed so I payed my check and took food home to eat instead. Don’t know if I’ll eat in again.

This is quite possibly the best Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to in this city. And I know when you’ve had one, you’ve had them all in this town (besides Lindo). But it is clear someone is putting their heart into every aspect of this restaurant Service was great too. I can’t wait to go back.

I’m a local worker I had my painting gear on . I wasn’t dressed up because it was lunch time also this was my 1st time coming here. I walked in wasn’t greeted so I go and find a young lady asks her was it ok to sit myself. She looked me up and down in Disgusting look and asks me what do I want with a attitude. Told me it don’t look like I suppose to eat here) looked me up and down again and said umm excuse me. I never meet this lady a day in my life. I told her ma’am I’m here to order lunch I work up the street I’m a painter. I have money. Just because I’m a black in my work clothes shouldn’t mean I can’t eat here. And it’s noon. She was so rude and disrespectful. The comments she made was even worse. I had to show this lady money and you can see I have expensive bracelet and ring on no way I should get treated this way. If your black stay a way from this place. The young lady name is Sandy. Mr. ERIC was a great server. He tried to fix it and apologize But it was already to much. This was a very bad experience racist should not exist in this day or time. Money is money no matter who spends it. This made my day bad and I hope I can save somone else from the Experience. This was a very Horrible place.
