First visit to Sear Steakhouse & Lounge for a curated wine and food pairing, and it exceeded expectations. Four thoughtfully prepared courses, each one incredibly delicious, paired with wines and a standout wine list overall. Smaller crowd made it feel intimate and enjoyable. Looking forward to returning.

If you’re wondering if the experience at Sear Steakhouse in Rockwall is worth it, we can skip to the part where I say YES. I blame myself for not having a meal here sooner, as it’s been open a while now at the Rockwall Harbor, but I finally had a nice dinner reservation and I was extremely impressed. The location is lakeside at the harbor in Rockwall, adjacent to Lake Ray Hubbard. The decor was upscale, they do have a dress code, and inside the atmosphere was luxurious. More importantly, the food and service here were stellar, and every item we ordered was as good as or better than hoped.

Appetizer Wagyu Meatballs – 5/5
Baked Potato Soup – 5/5
14oz New York Strip – 5/5
Twice Baked Potato – 5/5
Rainbow Carrots- 5/5

Even the complimentary bread and butter was 5/5.

If I had to have any ding on the experience, and this is just my own personal subjective preference, the music playing took me out of the ambience a bit, as it was classic rock and some other lyrical music that seemed to be a miss. I hardly noticed though, considering the food and service were so outstanding and that’s what really matters.

The bottom line? Rockwall has a true, unique, distinct fine dining steakhouse that’s accessible without having to drive out and over the lake. That’s a huge benefit to the people who live here. I will be back!

Exceptional service isn’t good enough. Our server Jacob Hranicky was simply amazing. He was able to recommend drinks and menu items with ease. His knowledge of the menu is obviously extensive. Without his recommendations we may not have tried some of the items tat we now love. We were in the restaurant to celebrate our anniversary and he and is helpers made it a night to remember. The food at Seer never disappoints. We frequent the restaurant and it just keeps getting better each time. It is truly a hidden gem. You must try Seer. Atmosphere, food, drink and the staff. Outstanding in every way. Thank you Jacob!

My hubs and I booked reservations for New Year’s Eve to try something new. I was a little surprised when I had to put a $50 deposit down to make reservations, but I did it. So, we show up at the Harbor. Surprisingly, it wasn’t as busy as normal, which was nice. We valeted as we knew the restaurant would validate the parking. We were seated quickly. It didn’t appear to be that busy. There was a party of 8 in the room we were in, other tables just had 2-4ish. The restaurant is nice and where we sat does face the lake. We couldn’t see it since it was dark, but we knew it was there. The waitress greeted us and said the water would be right behind her. They weren’t. We waited at least 10 minutes for a drink, and we only had Diet Coke and water. It always surprises me when alcohol comes so much faster but whatever. We ordered the crab cakes as an appetizer. Scott got the salmon and I got a filet. They have shareable sides but his came with a side so I was at a loss on what to do. I wished they had a smaller option for when it’s only one person that needs a side but likes to try things. I ordered the twice baked potato and Brussels sprouts. While we wait for our food, they brought some sourdough bread, which was delicious. This was at least 25 minutes in so we weren’t sure why it took that long, but again, it was delicious bread. Our food was good. The steak actually comes on some mashed potatoes. While it’s not a lot, it was plenty for me with the Brussel sprouts I’d ordered and the appetizer. So, I wished I hadn’t spent $15 on a baked potato because I just couldn’t eat it all. We did take a bite of it to try it and it was good. The filet was cooked well and it tasted really good. Scott enjoyed his as well. So, the food was good. It all had a nice flavor. It was just small things on how you order and if the menu would’ve said “filet on a smear of mashed”, I would’ve been a little happier to know what I was getting. I might have tried a different side. We did get the death by chocolate cake to go. It was really good, not too sweet or rich. It came with a cherry compote that balanced it perfectly. This and the bread were my favorite! Our waitress was super nice. One tip would be for the tablecloths to be ironed or something. These were so wrinkled our glass almost fell over. I dont normally care but this is supposed to be an elevated dining. I mean, I paid $50 just to be there. They did credit the $50 to the bill. However, be aware, I don’t know if this was just for NYE but the bill came with a 20% tip already included. I knew that already though and I would’ve tipped that anyways. But if you aren’t aware and tip and extra 20%, you might be upset. Another thing we were surprised by is they charged a credit card fee. I don’t see many nice restaurants doing that. So, we were a little surprised. This has been long but I wanted everyone to know some of the stuff I wish I had known. Again, everyone was really nice but I doubt we’ll go back. There are plenty of places around that are just as good and don’t nickel and dime you.

I had such a wonderful experience at Sear Steakhouse in Rockwall. The food was absolutely outstanding – perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The atmosphere was just as impressive, with a warm and welcoming vibe made even better by the stunning sunset views. It created the perfect backdrop for an evening out. To top it all off, dessert was simply delicious and the perfect ending to the meal. Overall, Sear Steakhouse delivers on both taste and experience – highly recommend!

Sear Steakhouse (Rockwall Harbor)
Sear Steakhouse at the Rockwall Harbor is an absolute gem. The atmosphere is elegant and sophisticated, with a gorgeous interior that feels upscale but still warm and welcoming. Everything is spotless, clean, and well maintained — and I loved the fireplace, it adds such a cozy touch.

And the food… incredible. The steaks were cooked perfectly and packed with flavor, the pork was amazing, and even the salads were standout delicious. Honestly, everything we tried was top-tier.

And as a bonus, the 360 bar just outside is the perfect way to end the night. We went on a beautiful evening and it was so relaxing sitting outside with drinks and appetizers while watching the sun go down.

Highly recommend Sear if you haven’t been yet — we’ll definitely be back!

Great place for special occasions. We spent around $300. Didn’t realize pricing when we sat at the 360 bar as it had more of a causal ambiance. But the filet Oscar was amazing! Cooked perfectly and was very tender. After dinner we walked over to the other bar. We were the only bar guests there at 7:30 on a Saturday night. But the pianist was amazing so we had another drink. We will definitely visit again.

We had a wonderful anniversary dinner at Sear. This was our first visit and it exceeded our expectations. The food was very good overall. We had the mushrooms (yummy), filets (very good) and sides of mac and cheese and brussels sprouts (also yummy). Service was outstanding, from the hostess, to the food runners and our wonderful server. They acknowledged our anniversary and gave us a lovely free dessert. The overall experience would make us return, although it was very pricey at $250 for two including tip (no alcohol), so this is a special occasion restaurant only.

My wife and I had dinner at SEAR Steakhouse & Lounge in Rockwall with another couple, and overall, the experience was disappointing.

The atmosphere is beautiful—great location right on the water—but all the blinds were closed until after sunset. I understand the sun shines into the dining room, but it would’ve been nice to enjoy the view before it got dark. On top of that, the temperature inside was uncomfortably cold. I’m rarely cold, but even I was freezing the entire time.

The service was the weakest point. Our waiter lacked any real personality—everything felt scripted. It took 10 minutes just to get greeted, and nearly 30 minutes before we received our first round of drinks. He prioritized other tables despite having already seated us, which set the tone for the evening.

As for the food, it was mediocre at best. The lobster bisque tasted a little off. My wife’s wedge salad came topped with fried onion rings that still had the outer peel, making them tough and inedible. My main course—a New York Strip Oscar style—was underseasoned and bland, especially the béarnaise sauce. Not the quality I expected.

Finally, after everyone else’s plates and glasses were cleared, my empty plate sat untouched for 15 minutes until I finally had to ask the waiter to take it. That kind of inattentiveness just summed up the service experience.

All in all, SEAR has potential with its beautiful location, but the food and service didn’t meet expectations. A solid 3 stars, and that might be generous. I doubt we’ll return.

We had a great time from when we entered and were greeted by the host. We were sat right away and treated to one of the best upscale meals we have enjoyed in Rockwall Texas. The steak was cooked to perfection and was so delicious. The Crab Cakes were fantastic. The Risotto with mushrooms was the best side. The dessert of Chocolate Mousse was fantastic and made in house. If you have any special request or need something ask for Cody the Manager who will be there to get you what you need. We will be returning again and again.
The 360 bar outside with Richard as the bartender was unbelievable. This place is definitely the Cheers of Rockwall. He remembers you and your drinks. Great place let the week fade away.
