Small, cozy restaurant with some of the best Mexican food we’ve had. We ordered the salmon tacos, shrimp tacos, steak tacos and marinated beef tacos. Every single option was outstanding! The fish tacos were very fresh and tasty and the beef tacos delicious!! Will definitely go back. Prices are very reasonable.

This place was super cute and in a great food hall surrounded by other awesome places to check out! The person who took our order was super friendly and helpful and even threw in some extra tortilla chips and salsa (and I’m not a salsa person but these were some of the best chips I’ve ever had- I’d totally come back for them). I had the curly fries, which were good but the flavors were a bit muted so they weren’t my favorite. The street corn however was INCREDIBLE! The first few bites had a bit of a spicy kick and the rest was absolutely delicious especially once you add a squeeze of lime! It probably ruined street corn for me because other versions just won’t hold a candle to this!

This is a delicious spot in a great location! The tacos and tortas are tasty, and the drinks (especially the mango with mezcal and hibiscus, and the mango with chamoy), are spectacular. The staff is friendly, and best of all, they speak Spanish!

Came to the food hall and tried the octopus taco, al pastor and carne asada. Would definitely recommend the octopus /pulpo for sure, al pastor was good as well and not dried pork

Pricing is a little high, but the tacos were fresh and delicious. I wouldn’t claim these to be authentic street style tacos, but they are delicious. Service was great and their tres leches was good as well!

The salmon taco was a first for me, and with the mango salsa it comes with, it was fresh and vibrant!

My friends and I bought a lot of food for pick up. When we went in the individual we talked with was more exasperated than anything. Unfortunately, a few items were missing when we arrived back home. There was no way to call ahead since there isn’t a number or an easy way to contact the establishment. The food, once we were back home for the second time was great.

Taqueria Habanero at Bryant Street Market: A Flavorful Mexican Spot in DC

If you’re looking for a quick, delicious bite and a refreshing drink, Taqueria Habanero at Bryant Street Market is a great choice!

Menu & Drinks

The menu features a solid selection of authentic Mexican dishes, including tacos, burritos, and fajitas, alongside tasty sides like street corn (elote) and indulgent desserts such as caramel churros and tres leches cake.

We ordered a taco trio with chicken tinga, shrimp, and mushroom tacos, plus a flavorful chicken tortilla soup. The highlight? Their frozen mango margaritas, expertly crafted with a Tajín and Chamoy-lacquered straw and topped with chunks of fresh mango—a must-try!

Ambiance & Experience

Taqueria Habanero’s section of Bryant Street Market is vibrantly decorated with Mexican-inspired art and decor, instantly transporting you south of the border—right in the heart of DC.

Final Thoughts

Craving authentic Mexican food and handcrafted margaritas? Taqueria Habanero at Bryant Street Market is a fantastic option! They also have a 14th Street DC location and a food truck for more ways to enjoy their flavors around the city.

SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!
Went to the Bryant location inside of the food market at Rhode Island metro. The vibe inside the market was nice with lots of seating choices so we were hopeful. Got the Mango Habanero Wings and the Quesabirra Tacos. The presentation of both dishes was terrible, thrown together and not at all appetizing. Wings were very wet and the sauce was runny and not flavorful. The Birria was salty and tough and the dipping sauce was extremely salty. The tacos were barely filled and nothing seemed fresh.

We ordered our food to eat there. After several people that came in after us received their food, we finally went to the counter to see what was taking our order so much longer only to see that they bagged it up as a pick up to go order and never called our number so the food was cold when we got it.

$33 worth of disappointment.
