DO NOT go there when they first open or they’ll sell you Old food! We paid $95.00 for day old food. I’m a cook so I know how freshly cooked meat should look. The chicken, ribs and brisket have a grayish tint to the meat with an ammonia smell. The food is old. Customer service is lacking. Very unfriendly owner. Like dude, you’re selling food in the COMPTON! Your customers literally have to walk through mud to patronize your food truck. Get over yourself! We won’t be going back!!!

BBQ hit the spot!!!
It was really good better than a lot of other BBQ spots you’re gonna find. No complaints on my side, went on a Sunday and there was a very small line so in less then 30mins had my food.

The food and the service were amazing! We got there early enough that there wasn’t a long wait for our food. I am in love with their mac n cheese! By far the best that I’ve had in a while. Parking is limited, but there is a shopping center across the street that has plenty of spaces available.

I regret giving Kitchen Corner, one of our Black-owned restaurants, a 2 out of 5 rating. I had eagerly anticipated visiting the truck for some time and was excited to learn they had opened a restaurant at 8320 Alondra Boulevard in Long Beach, as I am not a fan of food trucks. My few attempts to visit the truck on Rose St were hindered by large crowds and limited parking, as there were many food trucks on the main street. On Friday, February 20th, 2026, I finally tried the barbecue. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed upon returning home. The ribs were dry, resembling leftovers or possibly overcooked, reheated, or not—I couldn’t tell. The brisket included at least two pieces with excessive fat, which I plan to include pictures of. I spent $35 today after waiting so long out of anticipation to try this place, but I was ultimately let down.

The Mac n Cheese is the best being served to the public hands down! The pork ribs and brisket was on point! Highly recommend to those into BBQ!

After feeding into the hype wife and I went to this place and the mistake was being the 1st ones there at open. Price of meat tray was $30-$35 online however upon arrival was told by I suppose by a manager or owner that its $40. To make matters worst we spent $85.00 and was given meat that was not cooked on the spot but instead given ribs, chicken and brisket that was with grey texture that appeared to be old and not the freshest. Also had an ammonia smell. Customer service was dry and off putting from person taking order and just not a good experience. Got home an thoroughly disappointed with the almost $100 purchase of day before old cooked meat we were sold. I wouldn’t recommend this place to a starving dog. Maybe they hype has went to their head that they think it’s ok to serve and sale precooked old meat. MEAT WAS ABSOLUTE GARBAGE!!! We wanted to call and complain there was no number to call as we live way out. This place is a joke!!

I’d been eyeing Kitchen’s Corner BBQ for a few months now—line always wrapped and buzzing, which usually means something good is cookin’. Finally made it out there on a Sunday around 11:30am (pro tip: that might just be the golden window—everyone was still in church).
Now let me say this: be careful where you park. We accidentally pulled up in front of what looked like a regular curb, only to find out it was someone’s gated driveway. Homeowner came out heated and tried to fight us—even with me literally holding my newborn. Whole scene was a mess. Not the restaurant’s fault, just… heads up. The area is a little seedy, but let’s be real, that usually means the food’s gonna hit.
We ordered:
• 1/2 lb brisket platter ($25) – tender, flavorful, but honestly portion size was a little small.
• Dino rib ($35) – absolutely massive. Shared with my daughter and still had leftovers. A win.
• Large candied yams ($8) – I’d been craving these since before I gave birth and they did not disappoint. Gave my Nana’s kitchen energy. Still not convinced we got a true “large,” though—it was the same size as the small sides.
• Mac and cheese + collard greens w/ turkey – sides are $5 for a small, $8 for a large. The mac was creamy, cheesy, and comforting—definitely had me wishing I got the large. The collard greens had a nice little kick and were perfectly seasoned. I really appreciated that they were made with turkey instead of pork—flavorful without the heaviness.
Each meal came with two sides and 2 dinner rolls—honestly solid value.
Also, bonus magic: There’s a sweet auntie set up near the line selling desserts—and yes, she offers samples while you wait. Bless her. Banana pudding and pound cake vibes all day.
BUT—let’s be real. It’s not quite worth the hype for what you go through.
• The line can be hours long
• There’s little to no shade while you wait
• No seating if you need it
• It’s kind of a trek depending on where you’re coming from, tucked in a part of town that’s a little rough around the edges—
• And the portion sizes (especially the brisket and sides) felt underwhelming considering the time, energy, and energy it takes to get your hands on them.
Overall, it’s very good BBQ—one of the better ones in SoCal—but I wouldn’t camp out again for it. Glad I tried it, Just go early, park smart, say yes to the dessert auntie, and come hungry. Hunt for the ONE continues.

I just got back from ordering my food after standing in the line and sun for 2 hrs. Disappointed to open my trays and realize they cheated me out of one meat and rolls… should have checked them before leaving. $35 for the 3 meat and got 2. $30 for 1 1/2 lbs of briskets.. umm. Food is still good but pls check your orders. They seem overwhelmed with all the customers
