My wife and were very glad we did. The Tom Kha soup is fantastic and the dishes very good. My wife rarely finishes her Thai dishes but here she did. Definitely going back.
When I called to discuss getting a partial refund of some kind, we were told to bring back the food and that they would leave a note for the manager. Kind soul… sweet honey child…we are not getting back into the cold to drop off containers of what became cold and soggy food only to wait for someone to get back to us.
We were pumped about not having to cook- I spent extra money and ordered a large size of the massaman curry as that’s what we were looking forward to most. We (4 adults) eat tons of Thai and were really looking forward to our meal. It was so bad that we didn’t finish it; taking it back to the restaurant was out of the question as we were all hangry and exhausted after a holiday of wrangling kids and schedules.
Attached is a picture of the sad leftovers which we threw away… never have I done such a thing. It was hot and edible, but severely disappointing.
Great price for the portion and quality!!
I unfortunately ordered the Garlic Salmon instead of the cooler-looking Garlic Tilapia they had as a picture for the menu. The flavor was great! It came with a lot of Garlic, as well as a little dark bed of something finely chopped under it that was a little too salty for my husband on his salmon. But it was greatly paired as a topping for steamed rice, so he ate it with that.
The red curry special came with an eggroll and a side salad. I ordered some fried banana with honey which while tasty, also expelled some hot water when bitten into. Delicious meal! Recommend the tilapia
Overall: LOVEEEEEE ♥️
hey have a great selection of appetizers and entrees. I had the Lifelong Noodles with seafood (spice level 2… maybe level 1 next time for me) and the chicken satay (the peanut sauce is what makes this great). The noodle dish had shrimp, squid, scallops (I loooooove scallops), and two mussels. You can get chicken, beef, pork, or vegetables.
My brother had the sticky rice with mango for dessert. He let me try a bite (and I gave him a satay). I’ll have to get that next time.
The Blue Rat Thai is located on Main Street near the Square in Downtown Garland, two doors down from Dos Banderas. Go today, people!
