Very pleasantly surprised by this restaurant! Was very pleased with the whole experience. My friend and I had reservations for the raw bar, however were lucky to be seated in the dining room. The only downside was that we then could not order from the happy hour menu like we looking forward to.
The food and drinks exceeded my expectations in terms of presentation and taste! The Abyss Oysters – amazing! Even the house salad was beyond any I’ve tasted recently. Cocktails were presented as they should be, in the appropriate glassware with crystal clear ice.
Our waitress was sweet and attentive, very professional!
The only minor downsides to the dining experience was a sticky cocktail glass upon delivery to our table, a couple reminders to bring some sides/desserts that had taken a while, and having to pay $3 for parking after we thought it was validated for the hotel garage. These are definitely not reasons to keep me from coming again, just things to be noted by management.
When I go out for a nice dinner and expect to spend a good amount of money, I have high expectations! And they were met. I will be back for more seafood!

From the moment we entered the restaurant we were greeted with warm smiles and friendly staff. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and explained the dishes in great detail. We started with the charbroiled oysters served with a delicious Focaccia roll, a crispy Mitso Fritso and the Blue Fin tuna-which was the freshest raw tuna I have ever tasted. Next, we had the Lobster Pappardelle, that consisted of huge pieces of lobster with an exquisite lemon butter sauce, and the Alaskan Halibut Mole complimented with a pumpkin sauce that was a perfect pairing. Finished the meal off with a Mexican Lava cake that was the perfect end to a delicious experience. Anmar, and his staff go above and beyond to bring delicious flavors and the freshest seafood to the Upstate. A must try in Greenville.

The lobster pasta had a lemon tast and was fantastic. The Chilean sea bass has a golden crust and is fantastic. The ceviche was fanomanal. The sides were also incredible, especially the risotto. The only negative is that it is pricey, but you get what you pay for. Taylor was our waitress and she was great!

I have been several times and everything has been incredible!! Truly top notch restaurant. A little out of my comfort zone, but I’ve enjoyed trying things! The brunch menu is incredible. The cocktails (and mocktails!!) are so good. I’ve tried several of their “Chef’s Daily Crudo” and they’ve all been very tasty. The desserts are SO good. Highly recommend for a brunch, girls day, date night, or drinks with friends!!

This place was a wonderful spot for a great date night with my wife! We had made reservations, so seating wasn’t an issue at all. They even accommodated our request to move tables so we could sit outside on their patio and enjoy the beautiful weather.

We started off with some raw oysters—both styles were absolutely delicious. Next, we tried a few of their much-hyped rolls, and they definitely lived up to the reputation! For a salad, we went with the fried oyster Caesar salad. While it was good, the portion was a bit small for the price.

For our main dish, we chose the Bluefin Negi Shio, which ended up being my wife’s favorite. To accompany it, we ordered the heirloom asparagus and the house risotto. Both were fantastic and something we’d definitely order again.

The waitstaff was friendly and offered some great recommendations for both food and drinks. Overall, this is a great place to dine—perfect for date nights, celebrations, or even business dinners.

My wife and I dined here last night to celebrate our first Valentines Day as a married couple. My wife is having to have surgery on the 13th so we had to move up our reservations by a week. We were seated immediately but with a full restaurant. Savannah was our waitress and she was OUTSTANDING! She gave such detailed descriptions of the specials, her personal favorite dishes and answered any questions we had about the menu. We started with the tuna tartar and a dozen oysters. The tuna tartar was stupendous and full of flavor with the crispy wontons. The soy glaze and wasabi Aioli just added to the flavor of the bluefin tuna. We received the assortment of oysters as 10 were east coast and 2 west coast. I can for sure say I am only a fan of east coast oysters. The west coast are in fact bigger with more “meat” but they definitely make you feel like you just swallowed sea water. This however did not keep me from eating the other one along with the rest of the oysters. The housemade cocktail sauce was fantastic. For our entrees my wife went with the scallops after fighting between it and the ribeye. I ordered the Chilean Seabass and we went with the creamed spinach and the house risotto. The seabass was perfect with a nice crispy crust. The creamed spinach was in fact as my wife said “better than her own”. The scallops and risotto were a great combination. The only thing that threw us off was the what seemed to be popcorn bits on top of the scallops. I’m not sure what they were but didn’t really add anything to the dish. The Saffron curry sauce with the sweet potato hash of the seabass was one of the most flavorful curry sauces I have ever tasted. I would pair that with anything. Abyss is a great establishment and they put alot of time and effort into those dishes. Savannah was superb and I can’t recommend her enough. I know you’ll get excellent service with anyone after walking thru the door.

Abyss Greenville is hands down one of my favorite spots in town. The atmosphere is always on point, the food is absolutely mouth-watering, and the scallops are to die for seriously some of the best I’ve ever had. Everyone has a questionable thought about how fresh seafood can be when it’s not by the ocean but let me tell you Abyss brings you to the ocean. The flavors this place produces the freshness absolutely everything is astonishing.

I also have to give major credit to Alli Griffith, the bartender. She’s always such a pleasant face to see when I come in friendly, professional, and just brings great energy to the whole place. Making some fantastic drinks You can tell she truly cares about what she does, and it makes every visit that much better.

If you haven’t checked this place out yet, you’re missing out. Abyss sets the bar for seafood in Greenville.

Every place has its bad and good days if you see a bad review this spot is only worthy of the Good. Everytime I’ve gone it’s been 98% percent one time for the loss 2% slightly more spicy than I liked but was fixed with little to no complaints the staff here is phenomenal and welcoming.

So if you’re stopping by Greenville and want some of the leading seafood in the upstate this is where you need to be.

I really enjoyed my birthday dinner at Abyss! It came as a recommendation and did not disappoint. I found that they validate parking in the Moxy hotel garage, so there were no issues pulling right up and getting a spot. The staff was very friendly and accommodating- they even were kind enough to comp my birthday dessert . I had the chargrilled oysters, grilled octopus, salad, seabass and risotto. Every single bite was worth raving over! Drinks were delightful and my overall experience was great. Highly recommend Abyss for an elegant night out… but you can equally have that elegance at their lovely bar as well!

Wonderful lunch served by an attentive staff. Dwayne is an amazing host who took great care of us from start to finish. All of our dishes were plentiful and delicious. The short rib eggs benedict was enough to share and filled with tender beef. Bone marrow oysters were sweet and had the right amount of marrow. Craft cocktails exceptional. Bravo!
