Server was really nice Asian girl. I really liked the dumplings it was for sure homemade feeling. They also had a lady in the back making the dumplings. So you know it’s legit. It’s tedious work, but worth it. Love this place, I would go often if I lived closer.

Mostly enjoyed the food. There was an interesting fish dumpling that didn’t really taste like fish? It wasn’t necessarily good or bad though? I probably wouldn’t get it again. The other dishes were mostly better. I probably wouldn’t get the braised pork again either. It’s not bad, but not amazing either. Overall it was a good experience. Dumplings are just dumplings after all so don’t expect any life changing craves.

My kid and I really really like dumplings. Hengry was so so so good. The kind of good where while we were still eating, we were talking about the other things we want to try next time we come. He loved the fish basil steam dumplings and I loved the pork and shrimp shumai, there were some incredible green beans and other dumplings and wontons and stuff, I can’t even remember it all but every dish was ridiculously tasty. A little pricey by the end but well worth it.

We tried the sautéed green beans and they were absolutely fantastic! Perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. The popcorn chicken was also heavenly (crispy, juicy, completely addictive), and the pork chive wontons were also really good — fresh and super satisfying. Everything felt thoughtful and delicious. I think this place is great and can’t wait to go back!

Ordered the sauteed green beans 干煸四季豆 good portion size and correctly done – flavorful skin and tender inside. Had the basil fish dumpling – surprisingly pleasant flavor combination – basically a fish paste ball filling. Skin was correct. The old man husband had the wontons in chili oil which he describes as “appropriate” and “good”. Finally, I had the 蛋花汤 (egg drop soup) which was heavenly on a cold February evening. Big juicy corn. I want to know where they got their corn. The best I can find is Del Monte or Green Giant canned corn in the supermarket and even those kernels weren’t as big as these kernels.
They played 新年晚会 on the television which was cozy. The wait was long, but I don’t care, because if you can’t be content waiting, you’ll never be content in life.

I got food poisoning the night after eating here. I’m pretty sure it was Hengry Dumpling House because the only other things I had that day were a bowl of oatmeal and a Peanut Butter Sandwich I made myself at home. The service was also really slow. The food was pretty good but I still would never eat there again.

Black pepper tofu: super good! I wish it would have been a lil more crispy, but flavor was delicious
Shumai: hard pass. skip it and steam a frozen bag from an Asian mart frozen section
Katsu Chicken: pretty mid. too sweet for me
Spring rolls: what I expected and wanted! But I didn’t get the chili sauce which was a bummer, but I survived

Stopped in for lunch because I was craving dumplings. Everything was really good. I started with chili wontons which were excellent and had so much extra sauce leftover for dipping the soup dumplings and pan fried dumplings.

Very tasty dumplings, quick service! We ordered the kung Pao chicken dumplings, the pork and cabbage (awesome dipped in soy sauce and chili oil!) dumplings, the pork curry dumplings (husband’s favorite), and the steamed custard buns. We’ll definitely be back!
