We went there last week and it was a great experience. We came in just in time because it wasn’t busy yet. We got the only table by the window and it made it special for our occasion. The drink I had ordered wasn’t available so they suggested another one which was ginger beer and I liked it! It was a refreshing drink. The charcuterie board was delicious too! Everything was amazing. My girl and I had a great time and the waitress gave us a complimentary drink with our dinner. Thank you. We will surely go back again!

Color me impressed. If you follow me than you know I have expectations based on price point and this place didn’t disappoint. It actually impressed me!!! Great service, wonderful ambiance, well made cocktails and every plate was exceptionally prepared.
Now, my usual disclaimer, if you’re not a foodie you might not feel the same. I say this as I was talking to someone and he fully acknowledges he eats for survival and isn’t a foodie, but came here for his girlfriend. He felt it was okay and would’ve preferred his usual pizza spot, but his foodie girlfriend loved it.
And no matter how full you are order dessert, it’s what the chief was trained in and it show

My wife and I came here for our 30th anniversary and just loved it! We made a next day reservation for the outside patio for 5pm. We had drinks, appetizer, popcorn, main dish, desert, and coffee. The personalized touches were really nice (like the happy anniversary note on our menus.) The food was absolutely amazing! We really enjoyed everything we had. The portions were actually larger than we expected and the quality was top notch. The service was also amazing, attentive but not intrusive. We ended up having the whole patio to ourselves for the entire time. It was pretty windy but they have a fence around the patio and awnings over the tables. I will say that the road noise may be a little loud for some people, but we live next to a freeway so it really didn’t bother us. They have music and a water fountain to help drown out some of the road noise. Overall, we were really impressed and will definitely be back! Thank you Vim Team for a wonderful anniversary dinner!

I have absolutely no regrets about splurging for dinner here. I’ve lived in Santa Cruz for 5 years and avoided coming to Vim’s because it looked so expensive but OMG it was worth every penny. Every individual item on the menu was like a whole creative adventure of flavors in itself. Some highlights for me were the za’tar pesto on the beets, the crispy edges of the smashed potatoes, the juicy nectarine salsa, the curry paste that was with the watermelon salad, and the decadent chocolate sauce with the cheesecake. The mocktails menu was exquisite and I appreciate the effort that went into crafting delicious non-alcoholic beverage portions. I met the chef who was friendly and clearly passionate about creating amazing food.

Interesting menu! Not what you’d usually expect from a place like this. They started us off with free popcorn sprinkled with truffle dust – a fun surprise! The food was unique and had a mix of styles, from Indian (naan) and Korean (kimchi fritters) to French (perfectly cooked fish). A nice place that we’d recommend.

My husband and I really enjoyed this restaurant. The food was very delicious and my favorite part was the artichoke with spinach as a side dish for tenderloin. The dessert was very good too and we got popcorn with nutritional yeast as snack for free.

We went to celebrate a birthday and Eric and Colin both made our whole group feel special. We sat outside on the covered patio that was perfectly warmed with heat lamps. I don’t usually ever describe food as phenomenal but we were all in heaven with each of our dishes. The pasta was so good that I don’t even want to make pasta at home ever again. We had drinks, appetizers, dinner and dessert. All were unforgettable. We decided we will be returning for each of our birthdays, it was that special! Thank you Eric & Colin for your wonderful hospitality.

Without a doubt the best restaurant in Santa Cruz. To me this is the only truly Fine Dinning Experience in Santa Cruz. Nothing in the area comes close to Jesikah’s carefully constructed dishes. Entrees are incredibly complex yet maintain a pleasurable balance in favour/texture and taste. We tried her Chipotle Chicken, Shrimp and Grits and pork tenderloin. All magnificent!!! Her wine selection as with her menu is small yet very discerning. Plus never forget to partake in trying one of her amazing cakes. As with her main dishes, the flavour profiles of Jesikah’s cakes are astonishing. Definitely top of the class in Santa Cruz.

We had such an amazing dinner and dining experience at VIM. Our server, Erik, was on top of it.
We had ordered scallops but they later let us know they didn’t have anymore. They comped another dish of our choice for us. Totally unexpected and not necessary, but greatly appreciated.
They even personalized the menu for my friend’s birthday and had a decadent chocolate/brownie cupcake with a candle for her.

It was my wife’s Birthday and we made reservations for four people. We got to the restaurant and sat at a nice table and started looking at the menu. It took a few minutes, but we realized that the menus on the table were customized with a Happy Birthday wish. Through out the evening, we ordered two drinks each, the drinks were all good, but I think the favorite was the Pomegranate Margaritta. For appetizers, we ordered the Moroccan Spiced Lamb Meatballs with fresh garlic naan, the Kimchi Rice Fritters, and the Fried Artichoke Salad. They were good, fresh, and delicious. That fresh garlic naan with the lamb meatballs was the best. For entrees, we ordered the Red Wine Filet Mignon; the meat just melted in your mouth, the best I had in a very long time. We also ordered the special Stiped Bass, Curry Yogurt Chicken, and the Spring Leek Fettuccini. Those dinners were amazing, we all tried a bite. They were all done to perfection and had their specialized taste. I never order chicken but ordered the Curry Yogurt Chicken just based on the description, and it did not disappoint, it was really good. For desert, we ordered the Vim Chocolate Cake (chocolate heaven), Lemon Pistachio Churro (amazing), and the Tahini Semifreddo (vegan and good). Our waitress Laura and the rest of the staff were very professional, excellent, super nice, and easy to talk to. We will definitely come back to VIM. Thank you for a great evening.
