My friends and I were here for the first time last night, we couldn’t stop talking about how nice it was. The place was clean, food was outstanding and the staff were attentive and super friendly.
To your immediate left after you walk in, there’s a rack full of wooden hangers for you to hang your coat free of charge(!!!!). Right next to it is a change machine that doesn’t appear to be owned by a bank, which I’m assuming means there are no fees attached (but don’t quote me on this!). Bar staff were asking everyone who walked in and stood by the bar if they were here for the show performing that night, and directing them accordingly.
The sound insulation in this building is impressive. The venue room where live shows perform is in a separate area around the corner from the dining room/main bar area. My friends and I were in the dining room in front of the bar while a band was performing, and we barely heard anything. The venue room has a mini bar with a limited selection of canned drinks and a free water station.
Restrooms are right outside the venue room, single-stall and a bit of a tight fit for anyone handicapped. The kitchen is open and serving food until 1 AM, and they have a winter menu with warm foods fit for the season. HIGHLY recommend the grilled cheese with tomato soup, it was filling and packed with flavor.
Overall we had a great time at this place, I’m planning on seeing another show here at the end of the month and I can’t wait!

Nice atmosphere, great cocktail. Some good looking specials on the board at the end of the bar. The hot dog and chili had a decent flavor but it seemed dry even tho it was covered in chili, the chili just wasn’t that great I think. Would not get again, tho I’d go back for more drinks and try some other food again

Very cool bar and band venue in Northeast! The drinks were made well and service was quick. Very limited parking so it’s best to get a Lyft or Uber.

Really wanted to like this place. Was a little weird going in when it was dead at 5:30pm on a weekday but it explained why the staff was so attentive. Food was okay despite the initial appeal of the menu. Cocktails were not a hit with the table. Pool tables did not work well and us and another party spent awhile getting the balls unstuck from the tubes.

What a great local bar. not only do they have a huge bar area but a room in the back for live bands. I went to see a newer band Pullstring tonight. It reminded me of seeing bands like Husker Du, and The Replacements at the 7th street entry back in the 1980s. Very much a young crowd as it should be. It was nice seeing people hang out in a real bar that is not a dance club. I sell a lot of homes in Northeast Minneapolis and I will be sharing this gem with my clients and friends.

I was very surprised by the treatment me and my friends received here because i’ve been here twice and the first time, the crew was so nice and welcoming. However, other reviews mentioned feeling biases and targeted sadly feels true this most recent time. The bartender was extremely aggressive and rude, and that includes the manager to my friend group. If you’re a POC I highly do not recommend choosing Zhora darling as a place to hang out.

Zhora Darling is a restaurant and bar in NE Minneapolis. The brunch menu is standard with options like eggs Benedict, classic American Breakfast, coffee, etc. The food is also comforting and well-prepared. Excellent service and a low-key vibe. But there was nothing overly special or unique. Still, it’s a solid option for brunch!

Update 3/14:
We visited for dinner to try the dinner menu out. It was a strange experience, not bad. Pool and bar scene in 2/3 of the restaurant and the other 1/3 back corner for dining. Not quite at all and lights were very low. We really loved the mussels but didn’t love the rest of our meal enough to come back again for dinner. I’m glad we gave ZD another shot. Pros: huge serving of mussels and ok NA beer options. Cons: steak is cut up for you and way too much red sauce on the salmon.
I love the remodeling on the interior! Very bright, open, and welcoming! Our server was super attentive and friendly. We visited for a late Saturday brunch and no one else was sitting in the dining area. Soda is served in a can to preserve the “freshness.” We ordered the Big Breky and The Moroccan dish. Both were different but good. Very happy there’s a place in town that has a kitchen open past 9:00 pm!

Our favorite bar. They make us feel like family. Been coming here for 3 years and all of the staff always make us feel welcome and always go above and beyond. I love this bar so much. This is our go to bar. If I could give 6 stars I would. Amazing cocktails, food til 1 am. What more could you ask for?

I went to the music venue but didnt eat or drink in the bar area. It looked nice, couple pool tables in there. Venue space was nice. Sound and sightlines were good in the room. Little bar setup back there with good service and limited selection compared to the main bar.
