Unfortunately, this ended up being one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had.
When we walked in, both the male and female hosts overlooked us — twice. They addressed the parties in front of and behind us, seemingly assuming we were with someone else, until I finally stepped forward and said we needed a table. That should have been our first sign.
The restaurant was full but not overwhelmingly busy — no line out the door, no long wait. We were seated, but no one brought water, utensils, or even acknowledged us for nearly 20 minutes. We watched other tables get seated and helped while we tried repeatedly to flag someone down.
When we finally got a server’s attention, there was no apology — just “we’re a little busy tonight.” I completely understand busy nights. I’ve seen restaurants far more packed manage attentive service. By the time we ordered, the restaurant had already started to empty out.
We had to ask twice for our first round of water. Food arrived without utensils or napkins. No one checked on us after dropping off the dishes. We had to repeatedly flag down staff for basic things — water refills (which never came), utensils, to-go boxes, and even the check. We asked four separate times for the bill.
What made it more frustrating was watching other tables receive consistent attention. It genuinely felt like our table was forgotten or ignored, even though we were seated directly near the kitchen.
The food itself was fine — comparable to a standard Indian restaurant, nothing particularly memorable. Unfortunately, the service overshadowed everything. There was no apology, no acknowledgment of the long delays, and nothing done to make up for the experience.
We’re pretty easygoing guests. We don’t mind waiting if we feel taken care of. But having to repeatedly ask for basic service throughout the entire meal was exhausting and disappointing.
Maybe this was an off night, but based on this experience, I won’t be returning.
Our hosts were so nice and made us feel so welcomed
Priced similar to other Nepali restaurants, which seems to be strangely higher than Indian ones for the exoticism. Cheery bright spot with Himalayan vibes including Everest. Kind warm service. They even sell hand made stuff from Nepal as a philanthropic touch, if you are inclined.
First time with friends after a strenuous hike at the Mott Run reservoir. Second time with family after a pleasant amble along the river front.
Our server the last 2 times has been AD – he gives great recommendations and is lovely to chat with. More than just telling us what he likes, he shares info about the ingredients and cooking process. Very knowledgeable and friendly.
Highly recommend and will be back often.
