Came at 7:30 on a Friday night, and they were packed! We ordered the beef and lamb mala pots level 3. They weren’t able to substitute the beef tripe and pork intestine, so I gave them to my bf to eat. There was a generous amount of beef slices though, so I was still very full from this meal! The broth is different from Sichuan hot pot. It was more oily than spicy imo but felt very homey and traditional. Zelle or cash only for payment.

I suggest eating here if you really love napa cabbage and vermicelli. The house soup almost tastes like milk to me, since the broth is so white. The meat portion was decent and the quality was not bad.
The mala soup base was definitely more catered toward my taste, I wasn’t a fan of the house broth. They give an absurd amount of napa cabbage and noodle, but not much else. There was also no rice (prob since close to closing) and not much of a broth refill.

The newly upgraded space is bright, comfortable, and inviting. After hearing that the original owner has resumed management, I couldn’t wait to give it another try. We arrived right at the first dinner seating at 6 PM on a particularly hot day-but thanks to the air-conditioning, it was perfectly comfortable.
I ordered the 0.5 spicy mala beef broth, and my mom had the non-spicy creamy broth. The mala broth was just as it should be-rich, flavorful, and full of that signature taste I’ve missed so much. It truly brought back the original, delicious experience.
We left completely stuffed and satisfied. I’m so happy this place is back to its old glory, and we’ll definitely be returning for more hot pot soon!

Wuji Mala Hotpot is seriously so good. The owner is incredibly kind and generous–it feels like you’re being welcomed into someone’s home.
The food is top quality: bouncy glass noodles, super tender beef, tofu soaked with flavor, soft tempura, sweet shrimp, and fresh, crunchy veggies. And the mala broth? Amazing. I recommend getting it on the side so you can control the spice level.

I have been craving hot pot lately and I wanted to try Wu ji’s Mala house for long time and finally had the opportunity to. I got the Lamb Mala pot with 0.5 level of spicy. It was spicy enough for me and I was content with it, but it still made me sweat. The dish included Lamb with vegetables, tofu, fish ball, beef tendon, stewed tripe, pork intestines and glass noodles. They served it with individual pots with a fire going on the bottom. The cabbage on the side provided a perfect crunch to the dish. You can also cook the cabbage to make it soft. I enjoyed this place and will be coming back.

I rarely leave bad reviews, but this experience was completely unacceptable. My group ordered 4 beef pots and confirmed it clearly with the waitress. When the food arrived, she brought out 5. We politely mentioned that we only ordered 4, and she took the extra one back without any issue. A few minutes later, an older man (possibly the owner) stormed out and aggressively confronted us and insisted that we ordered 5. We calmly explained multiple times that we hadn’t, but he refused to listen, raised his voice, and accused us of lying.
He even yelled at the waitress and continued to yell at us despite us remaining respectful. The situation escalated to the point where we no longer felt comfortable or safe staying there. We would’ve been willing to pay for the extra pot just to avoid a scene, but his behavior was so hostile and unprofessional that leaving was the only option. I’ll never return here and wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone who values basic respect.

This place is beyond unacceptable. The food quality was awful and the vegetables were filthy. You could literally see dirt stuck on the vegetables and floating in the hotpot. It was clear nothing was cleaned properly before being served. I felt sick just looking at it.
The staff were also unprofessional and made the entire experience even worse. It’s obvious they don’t care about cleanliness or their customers.
I would never come back here, and I strongly recommend you don’t either. If you care at all about hygiene or basic food safety, stay far away from this place.
