Love love love everything we ordered tonight. We started with the mousse of foie and beet chèvre tart. I got the monkfish stew for my entree and it was phenomenal: deep seafood flavor and shrimp and fish were fresh. Our side was the charred carrots and that’s was a hit too! Overall I would definitely visit again!
PS. if you sit at the bar near the door, please keep your jacket because it was freezing! Hopefully they can put a second door or something to minimize wind coming in.

Great experience at Lallande. From the carefully crafted dishes, to the fantastic service and all the way to an amazingly welcoming environment and decor, Lallende is a Bistro you dont want to sleep on.

The duck magret, as well as the duck fat fried potatoes were the hit of the evening. The seasonal cocktails were creative and delicious. We will be coming back for sure.

I came here for a birthday dinner and had such a wonderful experience. The food was fantastic, the service attentive, and the atmosphere warm and cozy. The escargot was delicious, but the fresh baguette it came with stole the show, it was incredible. The espresso martini was good, though not particularly memorable, and the staff kindly surprised me with a slice of cake to celebrate my birthday. Overall, a lovely spot for a special night out.

100% special occasion worthy but also just a lovely place to have an absolutely delicious meal. We were in town late last year and discovered Bloom Bake Shop next door. Curious about Lallande next door I looked it up and decided it would be a place to try next time we were in town. We had the escargot, the country pâté, lamb chops, salad niçoise and Roquefort to finish the meal. Everything was so good. Standouts were the escargot, pâté and lamb chops—although the entire meal was excellent. Of course the bread was stellar. We are looking forward to another meal when the season changes.

Everything tasted so fresh and flavorful! The escargots were buttery and rich, the ratatouille was a colorful burst of summer vegetables, and both mains were cooked and seasoned perfectly. But one thing that stood out the most? The bread ‼️ all of it was freshly baked that morning at Bloom Bake Shop next door, and you could truly taste the difference. I hope we can try the lamb lollipops entree next time as they were sold out when we came in for our reservation at 8 PM. Definitely will be coming back!!

Dishes pictured are: escargots, ratatouille, duck confit entree, salmon entree

Exquisite is the best word I can think of to describe this little gem of a restaurant. The food, service, atmosphere, cocktails and wine selections are nothing short of impeccable. We sat at the bar and were made to feel so welcome and appreciated. The escargot was seriously the best I’ve ever had. The Poisson en Croute was a beautifully cooked filet of sea bass enveloped in a delicate blanket of puff pastry with a light cream sauce. Perfection. Don’t miss the Iles Flottantes for dessert. The caramel is exceptional. So wonderful to have an option for high quality French food in Madison. We will definitely be back.

Should you eat here? Yes! We came for a dinner date night and had a great time!

The eggplant and flombe were excellent! Our entrees (steak and halibut) were tasty, too! I will say, though, the steak was a bit too chewy and not that great of a steak. A little over priced. We also had the carrots which were alright – fun idea with pistachios but it didn’t seem balanced enough.

Finally, the staff were super nice – especially the host! We’re excited to come back another time.

Amazing evening. We sat at the bar which is probably a different experience. Nina was efficient and friendly as our waitress whilst making cocktails for the entire restaurant. Our water glasses were never empty somehow.

The leek and goat cheese galette was a great start.
My husband loved the pork terrine and we were both enthralled with the homemade fig jam (Cinnamon? Something floral?)
The sea bass in puff pastry stuffed with leeks was truly a highlight-flaky with a creamy sauce. The bistro steak was a perfect medium rare with trumpet mushrooms. The charred carrots with dates and pistachios were also perfect.

I could’ve just had a big bowl of mushrooms and carrots and been happy. Fresh, simple ingredients treated right.

At some point in time I was in a food coma and it was magical watching the intricate dance of a well-tuned kitchen churning out dish after dish. Everyone seemed genuinely happy and made you feel like they were honestly glad you came to eat.

I’ve enjoyed Lallande twice now. Once sitting at the counter and another at a table. The counter felt a little crowded but was fun to see everything being prepared. Tried their escargot, onion soup, carrots, bistro steak, poisson en crute(fish in puff pastry with tarragon cream sauce), and lyonnaise salad. The onion soup, salad, and poisson were amazing this visit. I went outside my comfort zone with the poisson and it was amazing. Had the gateau basque both visits and is very good. Lallande is a great place for a special occasion or just because! Will be back again.

Delightful and cozy spot in Madison. Our first time and we were pleasantly surprised by the fresh ingredients and variety of choices. Service was friendly and speedy, but we never felt rushed. Intimate setting but didn’t feel crowded. An absolute gem in a lovely neighborhood. We will be back!
