Food was decent. Fried pickles were really good, chicken tenders were frozen, but good. The first waitress was really nice. However, it seemed more “fast foodish” instead of sit down. By that I mean, we we came in, we were told to “get your drinks and sit down.” She did take our order at the table and someone else brought it, but we got our own drinks and refills and then cleaned the table afterward. Which is fine I guess, just unexpected in a sit down restaurant instead of a fast food restaurant. One thing I really do not like is no prices on the menu nor on the receipt. They can just charge whatever they want,(not saying they would but you never know) and we know no different.

Delicious pizza – so good! The moment you step in you smell the pizza cooking in the brick oven. The crust is thin yet gives you enough to chew on. The pizza comes out toasty with the cheese perfectly gooey. Sauce tastes great as well as all of the toppings we tried. Lady who took our order was very friendly. Can’t say enough; this was a great experience.

I was initially not excited about a pizza place for dinner because I’m watching my carbs. It looked like a salad for me when the waitress recommended a cauliflower crust substitute for a pizza. Wow! Not only was it low carbs but my son said he liked mine even better than his regular crust pizza. Mine was thin and crispy.
Reasonable prices for a tourist town too.
Recommend.

Yummy pizza and bread sticks that you can eat on deck overlooking the river. Super nice people that work here. Lots of yummy cold desserts for a hot day. They even rent tubes and drop you upriver in the summer so you can tube down the river and get out here for a meal or snack.

The atmosphere Is great. Great location with views of river. Also great atmosphere with wood smoke smell adding to it. Unfortunately the food I got wasn’t very good at all. I ordered the double cheeseburer and home fries. The fries came soggy and with no seasoning. The hamburger buns are the small size that you buy for home use and the meat also had no seasoning. Food was disappointing overall. Was over 13 bucks for that and no drink.
The menus don’t have prices but they do have a big chalkboard at the register with prices. The thing is the prices are wrong on it and the actually prices are higher than what’s on the board. When I noticed they charged me more than the big menu. I was told they just hadn’t updated it. It’s a chalk board shouldn’t that hard to to do and for 12.5 percent difference in prices it should be updated.

TL;DR:
✅ Calzone was above average
✅ Nice river view from the deck
❌ Dirty tables, poor service
❌ Menus had no prices
❌ Overpriced food with hidden fees
❌ Tip calculated after tax and card fee
⚠️ Would not recommend unless you’re out of other options

This place had solid reviews so I decided to give it a shot but I walked away disappointed.
The good:
The calzone I ordered was genuinely good, definitely above average, and the river view from the outdoor deck made for a pleasant setting.
The bad:
Unfortunately there was more to dislike than enjoy. We were told to seat ourselves when we walked in but every indoor table was dirty. We went outside and found a table that had been mostly cleared aside from an ashtray still sitting there, which was odd and off-putting.
The waitress showed up and asked if we were ready to order even though we hadn’t been given menus yet. When she did bring them, we noticed they had no prices. She stood there impatiently, tapping her notepad until she finally asked, “Do you need more time?” The tone made it clear she wasn’t thrilled with the idea.
Eventually we ordered, and while the food was decent, the final bill was not. The calzone came out to over $15 once the credit card fee was added. Worse yet, they calculate the tip after tax and fees which felt shady.
Overall: I don’t recommend this place unless you’re short on other options nearby.

I stopped by to pick up my food on a busy evening and waited about 15 minutes, which I didn’t mind at all. However, what did concern me was what I saw during that wait. One of the staff members preparing food handled numerous sub sandwiches, cheeseburgers, and other things without wearing gloves or washing her hands even once. She was constantly wiping her hands on the back of her pants, especially after touching tomatoes and lettuce, and brushed crumbs off her fingers right onto the food prep counter.
Other kitchen workers were wearing gloves, but I noticed they never changed them—despite touching their face, glasses, and everything else.
I don’t expect perfection, especially during a rush at the end of the day, but basic food safety and hygiene should always be a priority. Please raise your cleanliness standards—Elkhorn deserves better!
