My current side chick wanted to try out the food at El Caporal. The parking lot was packed, but there is extra parking lot in the rear. Surprisingly, there was no wait for a table, we were served crispy tortilla chips and colorful, tasty salsa right away. We ordered Chile’s Rellenos plate and a Cheeseburger with fries, paired with a glass of Mexican coke on ice. The rice was perfectly cooked and seasoned, fluffy, with savory flavor. The refried beans are rich, creamy, and deeply flavorful. The salad is a refreshing accompaniment of a small bed of crisp, shredded lettuce, topped with diced bright red, tomatoes, very nice. The Chile Relleno features a light, fluffy, crisp, almost buttery, batter encasing a tender, roasted poblano pepper filled with delicious, melted cheese and picadillo, and diced potatoes creating a satisfying flavor. The French fries are golden brown, soft and tender. The cheeseburger is juicy, delicious and well put together with lettuce, tomato, mayo, ketchup, pickles, cheese and onions. The waitress was very courteous and attentive. The atmosphere is cozy, but spacious. The food was very delicious, but my only concern is that after leaving the restaurant, my stomach began developing a gas bubble and was percolating like an old coffee pot, then diarrhea. I am very disappointed in only giving 3 stars, but I don’t think we will be returning to explore more of the menu options. I am not marginalizing the restaurant, the quality of the food, or the service. To be fair I gave 3 stars and I am just not going to chance getting sick again..

Wow, this place was awesome. The customer service is remarkable they are quick and courteous. Food came out hot and fast. I ordered chilaquiles with some fried eggs, and it came with beans and home fries. The beans had good flavor, which is rare in the valley. The chilaquiles were delicious. I literally licked my plate clean . I’m not much of a fan of potatoes period but I’m sure they were just as delicious. The gorditas that I ordered were bean and queso fresco. Not only were they delicious but also bigger than other places. I washed it all down with some coffee. Which let me say was on point. You could taste that it was freshly made and was hot. The salsas that came with the chips were on point. They had a good kick to them but not overwhelming. They complimented the food very nicely. Overall, this place is amazing. This is a must try if you are in the Edinburg area.

I’m honestly still in shock. I found a cockroach literally cooked into the meat of my dish. Not crawling around—not near the plate—inside the food, like it had been cooked with everything else. That’s disgusting on every level. I lost my appetite immediately and threw up in the restroom for what felt like an eternity I’m sure I’ll feel sick the rest of the day. I am unsure if they threw the rest of the meat away for the food I know they have in the back. This isn’t a small mistake or a bad day. It’s a health risk. I would never eat here again, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Be careful

Very bad service. My friend and I ordered enchiladas. I ordered cheese enchiladas and my friend ordered chicken enchiladas. We got the wrong orders. I called the waitress and explained what happened. She just told us to switch our plates. How on earth will I exchange a plate I already ate out of with someone else? NO! They refused to fix the order and the waitress got mad and gave us a very bad attitude. She kept arguing that we could have just switched plates. NEVER going there again.

Great Restaurant with good food and great service.. The restaurant was super clean .. The staff was super friendly, and the food was very good. I had breakfast, and then Mariachis came to play . They are very good a little bit loud . But I still had a great time.. Highly recommend. Happy Health to all.

I was in a rush and just wanted a quick taco that I was hoping would “hit the spot.” I wasn’t expecting to be full since I wasn’t having a full meal. I ordered a chicken fajita taco, which came out to just under $5. I know things are out of hand in this economy but this taco was pretty weak on chicken… The flavor was just okay but I was in shock at how thin and light the taco was before I even opened it up…. The green salsa was tasty and to be honest so that was the only good thing. I’ll need to go and eat inside to give an update on my review. But for now, I was not happy paying almost $5 for this. I think I might was well have gone to Stripes, at least you get bell peppers and onions as filler……lol.

Nice new restaurant that has a great selection of menu items with very affordable prices. I was very impressed with the amount of food served on our plates. They also had a very impressive steam table full of food for to go plates. I’ll be back for sure.
