The mussels were most satisfying dish for me. Its cream broth was very addicting and mussels were plump. However, accompanying fries were a bit disappointing.

For parking, there is bigger parking lot in the back.

We had lived in France for many years, many moons ago, and are always on the lookout for a good French Restaurant. Cafe Colline is a nice little neighborhood gem. Staff was attentive and service was pretty quick. My Soupe a l’oignon was very good. I ordered the Steak Frites (medium) but it came out rather dry. I mentioned it to the waiter and he offered a replacement. I went with the Potato crusted Saumon and it was very good. My husband’s Soupe de Poisson and Confit de Canard were good.

I was looking for a new place for New Year’s Eve dinner. Cafe Colline hit the mark. Fantastic service, yummy food and warm atmosphere. My only regret is that we didn’t sit closer to the kitchen to watch the chef. The seabass was sublime. So much better than trout. The burgers and steak smelled so good too. Next trip I will get the mussels. French food but not pretentious. Relaxed, professional service. Adam was our waiter, very polished. Looking forward to our next visit. Likely stroll over and have a glass of wine or beer with mussels at the bar. What a hidden gem. Parking in front and around back. Same shopping center as Arrow Wine. Restaurant has a vibe but not too loud, easy to have a conversation without a raised voice.

I visited this restaurant with my family the other night, and we had an amazing experience. Our server, Chris G, was incredibly friendly and guided us through the menu and daily specials. The food came out quickly and was cooked to perfection.

Having heard great things about this place, it truly lived up to the hype. I would even say it’s the best restaurant in North Arlington. Highly recommend it to anyone craving French cuisine!

Had a great brunch at Cafe Colline! As soon as I saw a pic of the French onion soup, I knew I needed to give it a try and WOW, it was delicious! Got the omelette for my main as well and it was very tasty, as were the frites. Yummy French press coffee, too. Definitely recommend if looking for some French cuisine!

I had the omelette which was perfect but the fries were soggy and limp. My partner had the onion soup and croque madame which she said were good but the same soggy fries. Decent selection of wines by the glass. Service was barely adequate with different people seemingly assigned to our table and no follow-up after we got our food. There is a 20% nonnegotiable service charge added to the bill.

Here’s a NED-style review for Café Colline:

✅ What Works Well
– Cozy French bistro serving refined yet approachable French classics.
– Standouts include steak frites, duck confit, mussels, and seasonal specials.
– Elegant but relaxed atmosphere—great for date nights or casual fine dining.
– Attentive, knowledgeable staff with good wine pairing suggestions.
– Quality ingredients and thoughtful presentation.

What to Watch Out For
– Limited seating—reservations recommended.
– Prices can be a bit high for portion sizes.
– Menu leans traditional—less variety for adventurous or plant-based eaters.
– Parking may be limited depending on the area.

Verdict
Café Colline offers a charming, intimate French dining experience with classic flavors, perfect for a quiet evening or a special brunch outing.

Our group met for a retirement dinner on October 16, and the experience could not have been better. There is adequate parking in back. The room provided the perfect ambiance of comfort, privacy, soft music and soft lighting. The menu was personalized with the name of our honoree. Our dedicated server, Marta, did a fabulous job making each person feel special. The food was superb.

We had an absolutely excellent meal there. The two of us went for dinner. We skipped the appetizer and just ordered on. We had a fish entrée and a sandwich entrée. The café has a great vibe While we did not partake of the wine menu, there is a great selection and a full bar. It feels a lot like a French bistro. I think what made the meal really great was our service. Chris made a night special and made recommendations for dessert.

Excellent food, excellent service!
My wife and I had been trying to go to this place for quite some time (place is booked weeks in advance and for a good reason) so we finally booked a reservation to go with some friends and we all had a really good experience. I would have to disagree with some of other reviews on the service. Our waiter (and at least one other that was serving the table next to us) were very attentive, they had pretty good knowledge of the menu (including good recommendations on wine and dessert liqueuers), and service was fast and no errors on our orders. And the food was pretty authentic! Definitely try the Escargots and Beet salad (Betteraves – if you like beets you are going to love this salad). For mains we got Loup de Mère a(Sea Bass), Confit Canard and Steak Frites. Steak was perfectly cooked and the Sea Bass’ almond-capers beurre was delicious (perfect amount of this butter sauce in the dish). My wife favorite French dish is the Confit Canard and Cafe Colline knows how to make it. She loved it. I tried some and I’ll definitely will be back for that dish. And don’t skip dessert, plenty to choose from (Creme Brulee, Pots de Creme and Olive Oil Cake were our choices, and they did not disappoint!). Make sure you plan ahead, as again this place is pretty booked most of the time.
