Oh my god. Yeah, this place is legit. My tops for cheesesteaks have always been the usual winners; Delaware & Hoodies. This place is different in the sense that there aren’t those spicy/sweet peppers, but quality wise this might be a bit of a step above. The price is insanely good at just $12 for a monster sando, that’s the kind of price you’d get as a”special” deal from the other 2. Going to be coming back here a lot more now that I’m in the know & try more of their food.

Small but mighty good! Reminded me of the home made, southern fried cooking from the LA/MS gulf coast! Shrimp was perfectly cooked and so was the catfish! The fries were surprisingly really good too! But y’all…the best cocktail sauce I’ve ever had and I’ve had plenty different kinds! You do want to eat some of the shrimp and catfish without the sauce, because it really has great seasonings! Great little hidden spot! I’m not the biggest hush puppies fan but these were so good. I can’t wait to try the ones that are filled. The servings were a good size and very delicious. I definitely will be back to try the other items.

Seriously can’t believe this place! I’ve watched a lot of videos of people eating Philly Cheese Steaks and the way they describe them is amazing. I’ve tried them at multiple places and always been disappointed. Dry tough meat, not much cheese and flavorless! I had this ideal Cheese Steak in my mind and this place delivered! Soft flavorful steak, lots of cheese, seasoning was perfect and the bun toasted to perfection! Finally!
Wife had the fried Catfish and it was thick, flavorful and delicious! Onion rings perfectly crispy and seasoned on the outside and soft on the inside. Will be back over and over! Can’t give this place enough praise! Some of the best food I’ve ever had!

My wife and I went to Rec’s Hushpuppie Heaven today for lunch because of some reviews she read. We were very pleased with our visit. We ordered the shrimp, jalapeño and bacon hushpuppies and they were delicious. It was essentially a shrimp nested in a jalapeño, wrapped in a hushpuppy. We shared the catfish basket with french fries. The catfish was the best I’ve had in a very long time. It was very crispy on the outside and tender and moist on the inside. To me, the crinkle cut fries were just fair. Next time I will try the sweet potato fries or onion rings. We will definitely be back.

This place was awesome. Brisket hush puppies were great and smokey. Combo of the brisket and Mac and cheese works really well. Also got the blackened catfish and it was awesome. Cajun sauce on it was great and the catfish itself was well seasoned and had a good blackened taste. Wife got the Philly cheesesteak and it was great too

Went here with a coworker to grab lunch to go. We are very glad that we did. The staff is very friendly and after finding out it was our first time in, went over their menu with us and made some suggestions. We both got items from their revolving menu. The fiesta sandwich was delicious and the Tatz Cajun Plate which was delicious as well. The food tasted fresh and was extremely flavorful. We will definitely be returning to try more food!

If I could give it 10 ⭐️ I would. I’ve been on a disappointing quest to find good cornmeal battered catfish since we moved to the area a year and a half ago and the places I’ve gone have either had too much flour in the mix or their catfish was cheap and muddy. WELL TODAY WAS THE DAY, I FINALLY FOUND IT! The catfish was perfectly breaded with the right (IMO) blend of cornmeal, the fish was nice and white without the mud water taste. The portions are large. I got the Rob plate which is a fried shrimp and catfish combo with seasoned fries. Definitely recommend! Rob was the one who took our order and was super friendly and accommodating. My husband was supposed to order the hand dipped corn dog but switched it up and ordered the chicken tenders and he said they were good too. So we had to order one corn dog just so we could taste them, they’re good as well. But THE STAR of the show were the shrimp and jalapeño stuffed hush puppies, WE LOVED THEM! The place is small and clean, there are about 4 tables inside and two covered picnic tables outside. If you haven’t tried them YOU SHOULD.

Let me tell you right now—this place lives up to the name! I ordered the Catfish Basket (2 pieces) with fries, onion rings, and their famous Mac & Cheese Hushpuppies, and babyyyy… perfection.
The hushpuppies were the star of the show—golden brown, crispy on the outside, and then you bite in and boom… creamy macaroni and cheese with brisket inside. Deep-fried to absolute perfection—moist, flavorful, and unforgettable. I dipped mine in the creamy jalapeño sauce, and that combination needs its own award. I’m already plotting my return to try the shrimp and jalapeño bacon version.
The catfish? Listen… crispy on the outside, fluffy and tender on the inside, seasoned just right. Almost as good as mine—almost! The fries and onion rings were fried just right too—hot, fresh, and not greasy or overcooked.
And let me not forget the coleslaw—a simple side done right. Cool, fresh, and the perfect balance to all that deep-fried goodness. Don’t skip it.
The establishment was spotless—and that matters. When you walk into a restaurant, you want to smell good cooking, not something unpleasant lingering in the air. This place was clean, welcoming, and the young men working that day greeted me as soon as I walked in the door. Excellent service from beginning to end.
