Absolutely outstanding! This Japanese-Thai restaurant delivers the perfect balance of flavor, freshness, and presentation. Every dish tasted authentic and beautifully prepared — from the sushi rolls bursting with freshness to the aromatic Thai curries cooked to perfection. The staff were kind, attentive, and genuinely cared about the experience. The atmosphere is calm, modern, and inviting — perfect for both casual meals and date nights. Highly recommend this place for anyone who appreciates real Japanese and Thai cuisine done right!

We always eat here, service is great, food is well presented and delicious! Ambiance is classy. Sorry for some of the photos, we keep forgetting to take one BEFORE we take a portion. A great way to end a Valentine’s weekend. Mauri and Andrew were both seasoned in their industry.

Our first visit to Koi was a pleasant surprise. Many of the local hibachi/sushi restaurants nearby are average at best meaning i would not go back. Koi ambiance is contemporary but relaxing. Wait staff is friendly and efficient. Two of us ordered hibachi meals and while the food was just luke warm it was quite delish. I ordered the triple combo which comes with rice and salad. Another party ordered the steak hibachi however it was also just luke warm but quite tasty. Others ordered the pad Thai with chicken and the pineapple pad Thai. Portions are more than adequate. So much so that two of us could not finish our meal. They have a full cocktail list, along with wine and beer. The food ingredients were fresh and tasty. They only take reservations for 6 or more so if you want to eat right away get there early since it has become quite popular. We’ll be back for seconds!

One of the best sushi experiences in town! The sushi was incredibly fresh — the salmon literally melted in your mouth, and the eel was rich and flavorful. Every dish we tried was fresh and beautifully prepared.

The service was just as impressive. The staff was so warm and friendly, constantly checking on us and refilling our drinks without us having to ask. They made us feel completely welcome from the moment we walked in. The interior design was so modern and cool. I loved the cool KAWS decoration & Sculpture at the entrance! We didn’t even realize we stayed past closing because we were catching up with friends, but the staff never rushed us or made us feel uncomfortable — they handled it with total grace.

This place is a gem, and it’s officially one of my new favorite spots whenever I’m back in my hometown. Can’t wait to return!

Update: We have been back two other times since this review! Definitely our new favorite sushi place when we’re in town!

So to be honest, I’m only writing this review because some (2) of the servers have really nice tattoos. That will probably have no bearing on your visit, but it made mine really enjoyable.

But you should visit Koi though. At least once. I came with a party of nine (9) and it was a pretty flawless time. The service was great (shout-out to Max), the food was delicious, and the ambiance felt nice.

Max was very prompt on fulfilling our various requests throughout dinner. Generally friendly and pleasant. A different person also asked me if the food was okay when she noticed I wasn’t eating my papaya salad. It was good; I was just saving it to bring home to eat with rice since I ordered sushi and was a little full.

Speaking of the sushi, I ordered the salmon avocado roll and Sparkle of Love roll. The latter was superb, probably one of the better special rolls I’ve had in a while. The former was pretty good but unfortunately, it still did not reach the heights of the salmon avocado roll I had from Pacific Asian Bistro (don’t know if you should get it from there anymore though). The salmon was not as melt in my mouth. It had a bit of resistance. Still good, just not perfection. The proportion of salmon/avocado to rice was great though.

Side note: the wasabi here is milder I think. I mixed enough to turn my soy sauce greenish, and it did not have that strong hit up my nasal cavity as strong wasabi is wont to do.

Other people in my party ordered curries and the Tom Kha soup and said those were delicious. I stole some sashimi from the people who ordered the Koi Love Boat and that was also pretty good.

Second side note: if you enjoy spice, consider asking for at least level 4 or 5. Since this was my first time, I asked for level 3 for my papaya salad and it seemed very mild. Just a bit of tingle but not particularly spicy.

We got the fried ice cream and mochi ice cream for dessert and while they were good, I would not say they’re special.

Overall, very good.

We arrived at 6:30 on a Saturday and it was pretty crowded. If you don’t mind eating a bit later, there were plenty of tables past 7:30.

Oh, they also gave two little appetizers on the house which was very nice of them.

Prices seem very reasonable for the food and experience. So I think it deserves at least a try. Hopefully your experience will be as good as mine.

We’ve already been to Koi Sushi Thai & Bar twice, and it keeps impressing us. There’s plenty of parking, and the interior is modern and inviting.

They start you off with a complimentary fried imitation crab appetizer. We’ve sampled their Pad Thai, Hibachi, Curry, Katsu, and a variety of sushi. Every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. The service is consistently excellent.
Because it’s conveniently close to home, this restaurant is destined to be one of our go‑to for both lunch and dinner.

The restaurant looks incredible, like it belongs on the set of the movie Boogie Nights. The sashimi and sushi is really high quality. Buttery, soft, fresh and tasty. They also have a giant bedazzled statue at the front that baffles me, but I loved it. Great service. Very reasonable prices. Would go again.

Koi Sushi Thai Bar brought me right back to the authentic sushi I’ve been craving from New York. The salmon skin roll was crisp to perfection — if you know, you know! The Koi Sampler was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The fact that they’re only 5 minutes from my house makes it even better. Huge shout-out to our waiter, Lee — he was phenomenal and made the experience unforgettable.

Enjoyed the flavor of the different authentic Asian cuisine! It was a family owned restaurant and the owner were very welcoming though we were little late to arrive. They also provided complimentary drinks when we told them that we have been to Korea and China. They tried to increase the authenticity by adding extra ingredients and it feel nice. It was nice to enjoy authenticity of sushi, ramen and noodles which were less modified to American style due to the grace of chef.

We’ve been back twice now and can’t recommend this place enough! The service is fantastic. Our needs were always anticipated and we never had to even ask for a refill. They were on top of everything and extremely polite. The food is also phenomenal. Our first visit we ordered several sushi rolls which were all tasty, and this visit we decided to branch out to other items. Their scallop stir fry noodles and General Tso’s chicken were absolutely delicious! You can tell they put a lot of pride into their work and food—even the ambiance! We will definitely be back to this awesome new spot!
