Pros: really good authentic tasting homemade food. The chicken biryani was hot to trot. The chick peas and the chicken curry too. Very nice.

Cons: Small buffet. Not enough other cups or saucers besides plates. Had to use plastic cups for the water to put the yogurt and the mint chutney in.

Its like a nice nice restaurant but with some stuff in the rough and less buffet options but what was there was very good tasting.

I respect this man and his buisness, he works hard to keep it running, looks like he’s running most of the show, it’s not a top tier restaurant but at the same time, it’s good food for what you get in the buffet, one thing I didn’t appreciate is the fact that in the ad it said there was rose water rice pudding and when I arrived there wasn’t any, but the owner had me assured there would be some next time which is ok with me. The Naan they make here though is however, top tier. I’ve never had anything like it, it was the most fresh, tastiest naan I’ve ever had, and I’ve been to India myself as a tourist.

Want to note that the owner here is extremely nice, I asked him for ice , they didn’t have any ice in the building so he went across the street and bought some ice with his own two feet.

Not too sure how this place has a 4.7stars… first the restaurant is located in a somewhat unusual spot, between a Goodwill store and a liquor store. The surrounding area didn’t feel like the most comfortable environment, with some homeless and loitering activity nearby, so it’s best to park close to the entrance.

Inside, the decor is very simple and somewhat very outdated. The walls are covered with aluminum foil… I mean Aluminum foil!! Never seen before… which was surprising and gives the place a very basic, inexpensive feel.

We visited during their Ramadan buffet, priced at $20 for adults and $10 for kids. Some items such as baklava are charged separately, which wasn’t clearly communicated upfront.

Food quality was mixed.
• The goat curry was decent.
• The chicken tikka/tandoori was good.
• However, most of the other buffet items felt fairly low-quality and didn’t stand out.

Service had some delays — we requested tea and had to wait quite a while and it never arrived. The girl working there was nice though.

Overall: The experience was okay, but not particularly memorable. There were a couple of good dishes, but the food quality and overall atmosphere didn’t justify a return visit for us.

Would I go back? Probably not.

My opinion:
If a restaurant is offering a Ramadan buffet, the bar is higher — atmosphere, food quality, and hospitality should feel special. From what you described, this felt more like a basic buffet rather than a Ramadan experience.

If you want, I can also give you a shorter Google review version (4–5 lines) that will get more engagement and likes, which usually works better on Google Maps.

Absolutely loved our dinner at Kabob Chutney Grill in Sacramento! Everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked.

We ordered the Chicken Seekh Kabob, which was juicy and well-seasoned, and the Tandoori Chicken Leg Platter—smoky, tender, and full of authentic tandoor flavor. The Chicken Biryani was aromatic with perfectly cooked rice and generous pieces of chicken. The Chicken Tikka Masala had a rich, creamy gravy with just the right balance of spices, and the Garlic Naan was soft, warm, and packed with flavor.

Overall, amazing food, great variety, and a satisfying experience. Highly recommend Kabob Chutney Grill if you’re looking for delicious Indian/Pakistani cuisine in Sacramento. We’ll definitely be back!

Went on a Wednesday at 1:30 in the afternoon. It was completely quiet. They are playing some nice smooth jazz. I was able to work plus, the food was super delicious. The kebabs were juicy. The rice had good flavor. The chutney was just a little bit spicy and the cucumbers were fresh. I would definitely come back and it looks like they also do catering, banquets and parties FYI.

Dining Adventure Kabob Chutney Grill the food is Top-tier.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Our family visit kicked off with a great vibe—first impressions were solid! But during my second trip, things took an unfortunate turn. I had an allergic reaction from the spices; definitely a bit overwhelming for my system. But I don’t mind. I can’t deny the food is wonderful, but the ambiance leaves something to be longed for.

Walking in had me scratching my head —why is the host stand all the way at the back? There’s a lot of potential, yet the décor feels mismatched; a lopsided couch. Not quite the relaxed dining atmosphere I was hoping for!

That said, the extensive menu features a wide variety of options! I was tempted by the buffet, although I noticed a few hygiene concerns—like the absence of sneeze guards at the hot bar.

Now, onto the food! I indulged in chicken seekh kebab, chicken biryani, vegetable samosas, and garlic naan. The kebabs were a standout, bursting with juiciness and flavor! The samosas were equally satisfying.Yummy…..

However, I found the service needed a bit of polishing too. Need little table touches interaction with the customers.

So, despite my love for the food, they really need to prioritize their setup.

The food here is very good, especially their kabobs and naan. We ate dinner and had their buffet at 5:30 on a Friday evening and it wasn’t crowded, so we got the whole buffet to ourselves. We got fresh garlic naan, included in the price of the buffet, and the staff brought a freshly grilled chicken kebab to our table. It was great service. One thing I’d improve is have more napkins available and maybe fix the older booths.

This is a lovely, truly authentic restaurant. The family owners are kind and thoughtful, and the buffet has everything a meat eater and a vegetarian could ask for. The hot chai is also amazing. A great, reasonably-priced restaurant with great food, clean spaces, and excellent service.
