We went to Volcano in Bastrop for our anniversary dinner and had a great experience. The food was good, well-priced, and the service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant was very clean and had a cozy atmosphere. It’s on the smaller side(probably around 10–15 tables)which actually made it feel more intimate and relaxed. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit and would definitely recommend it. We’d happily go back again.

We’ve been here several times and we consistently are served delicious fresh food, with the best service. The servers are swift to take your drink orders, and they keep an eye on refills and check on the tables to see if there’s anything else you need.
I love the sushi combo and their wonton soup.
My husband gets the Pink Lady Roll and he loves their Sweet and Sour soup.
We always want to try their other selections of Asian food and Ramen, but can’t break from the delicious sushi!

Stubborn waitress, she told me no for some sushi I ordered because I wanted the lunch options (DURING LUNCH HOURS) which comes in 2 rolls or 3 rolls she told me no for the 3 rolls and told me no, then proceeded to not understand why I choose ramen? Ramen was nasty not authentic. (LOOKS CAN BE DECEIVING) She tried really hard to speak English but the language barrier was so hard to understand her, but she’s good at telling no for everything I wanted to eat

Awesome! Their food is so tasty! And so cute too! and the rolls are delicious! I got the tempura shrimp roll which was like heaven melting in my mouth. The people working there are so nice and welcoming. The inside of the restaurant was so cute and calming. 5 stars is a well deserved rating!

Finally, decent sushi in bastrop! Way better than Kyoto. My husband and I went for dinner on a Sunday evening and we ordered a bunch of sushi as well as a ramen to share. We were seated right away, the server was nice and attentive. The prices were amazing for the quality- I haven’t ordered to-go yet but sit down food was fantastic. I have to commend the pork in the ramen because they gave huge portions and it was cooked very well while still also being tender! The sushi was huge as well!! I was so full by the end of the meal, I was about to burst. I didn’t get any photos sadly because we ate it too quickly. Keep up the great work!!

Nice place to get some sushi from. The spicy edamame could have had a bit less oil. Our rolls were delicious and very filling. Server was kind enough to give us advice on certain dishes.

I came in at the tail end of lunch (specials end at 2:30pm), and was immediately seated and served. The staff are attentive without being pushy.
I ordered the Tempura Shrimp roll, the Philly roll, and the Tonkatsu Ramen. During lunch they have great prices on multiple rolls which includes soup. The sushi rolls were fresh and flavorful. The ramen had a rich broth and delicious chashu pork on top. It’s about time Bastrop got a ramen restaurant, I’m so glad it’s authentic too.
I absolutely recommend Volcano and will be back again!

I have been back several times since opening and the consistency of the food and service is always top notch. I’ve come during weekends, weekdays, lunch, and dinner. Delicious, fast service at very reasonable prices. For the price of a fast food meal you could come have a delicious bowl of ramen just as quick. I always recommend Volcano to locals and out of towners alike.

Honestly I just expected so much more based on what I’d heard. Let’s start with the beverages. Something is off with the water or ice machine… the taste is earthy and off. The won ton was ok, a little bland and the dumplings tasted like they came from a bag. Next was the salmon lovers special. It was ok. Fish was fairly fresh, chilled, overall not bad. The pieces used in the roll still had silverskin on one side though. The Ramen bowl was probably the best thing, pork was tender, presentation was great, but it was also bland and lacked diversity in flavor. This restaurant was incredibly clean and beautiful, the staff was extremely friendly… the product was just substandard in my opinion.
