In my quest to find a replacement for Tin Sing of Floral Park I had heard good reviews for Mama Food. Unfortunately, my quest continues…
We ordered roast pork egg roll, veggie spring roll, fried pork dumplings, general’s shrimp and crispy orange beef.
The food was nearly inedible. The egg roll casing was stale and the egg roll had no flavor. One bite and in the trash. The same for the spring roll. The pork dumpling wrapper was so thick and chewy and the ball of greasy un-seasoned ground pork so disgusting that I felt bad for the reputation of Chinese food everywhere.
The entrees were worse! The “crispy” orange beef was just blobs of uncooked floury goo. I pulled the things apart and had a hard time finding any actual beef. At least the shrimp once you took the massive amount of batter off them were still visible as shrimp but that’s all we could say about it. Just disgusting slop.
This is just another Chinese restaurant run by folks who don’t care what they produce. I cannot believe people still eat here. Save your money and try something else.

A friend of mine wanted to order some food from this restaurant. I’m familiar with it. I wouldn’t recommend it. We ordered including tip over $50 and the guy in the restaurant didn’t give us spoons forks knives, plates, or napkins. Then he gave the excuse that it was busy and he didn’t have time. I said that’s your job. It’s not that complicated. The wonton soup had no broth and was cold. I ordered spare ribs. Well done. They were cold as well and barely cooked and I had to throw them out. My friend also complained about the food that it’s cold And not cooked. Now my friend will not order from this place either. ZERO stars

Very good food. Had the general chicken and pork fried rice combo. Let me tell you they give you real pork fried rice. Not that yellow crap everybody else gives you… onions ,pork and EGG!!!! New spot for me

Placed a delivery order for two lunches. Tip the guy $5 on top of the order. Call back because they forgot the drink. Very disrespectful and wants to argue and say they put it in the bag and my fault. Too lazy to bring another drink for the customer. Terrible customer service. Very rude.

Everything I’ve tried so far has been delicious.The fried rice is a must try. Definitely recommend this spot. It’s 15 minutes away from me and I still drive to get it.

I’ve gotten food here a couple of times and it was always good. Today I was disappointed to find pieces of eggshells in my food. I had to spit it out it was so crunchy .

I called to place an order for my staff and was shocked by how rude the person on the phone was. Instead of simply taking the order, they insisted I come in to order, which defeats the whole point of calling ahead for pickup. When I questioned it, they hung up on me. Very unprofessional and disrespectful behavior. I will not be ordering from here again…

You guys have always been the best chinese food place in elmont and I can say all of Long Island. Thank you. I usually get the young chao fry Rice. That’s your house special rice made with white rice. Chicken with broccoli, your spare ribs and those wings.
