They used to be the best around but have fallen way off. Ordered three simple dishes and two were super greasy to the point that it was un-edible.

Was excited when reading the comments but this was not it. Whoever leaves comments, I suggest being super honest about the individual dishes.
The pros: The Chicken Wings (order this)
The Cons:
– Fries were soggy , and who uses American BBQ at a Chinese restaurant
– Chicken & Broccoli Okay but no flavor
– The Boneless Ribs were dry and bland.
– The Pork Fried Rice tasted as it was from yesterday.
Overall I guess it’s okay but I can’t settle for this, I’m from NYC where Chinese food is just amazing. I would expect being only 30 minutes away that it would meet expectations however it didn’t.
The staff are amazing people however 🙂

Horrible. They put you on hold to convince you that you being connected to a manager. You finally get connected after calling 5 consecutive times. Previous order they charged me for food I did not order but luckily I had people at my house to eat it (which I did not call to complain). Second time they did not send enough food causing my son to question me about his dinner that he requested. THEY DO NOT EVEN OWN UP TO THEIR MISTAKE OR PROVIDE A COMPLEMENT MEAL FOR THEIR ERROR. I will no longer order residential/cooperate from them. Sad to walk away from an 8 year relationship but GO WHERE THEY VALUE CUSTOMERS.

Ordered a very basic Chicken with Broccoli. The meat is either not chicken or just waaaayyyy too old. The regular white rice is super moist. I have to throw away the food. Just couldn’t eat it. I now have doubts with the reviews here, if they are fake reviews! A simple chicken with broccoli and they failed miserably.

They used to be good but lately the food has been consistently terrible. Soupy shrimp and broccoli. Burnt egg foo young , dry lo meiin and soggy eggrolls. I am not sure if they changed cooks but I will not be eating here anymore.

UPDATE:
I’ve been Ordering from Gum Hoi for Over 10 Years. But Over the Past Year, Not So Much. The Flavor is Not the Same. The Presentation is Not the Same. I’ve Switched to China Wok on Broadway in Haverstraw and Found the Food Much More Enjoyable. But the Other Day I Figured we would Give them Another Chance since China Wok wasn’t picking up the Phone. So we Ordered 5 Different Items. The Steamed Dumplings Were Flavorless, and Had a Brownish Color to them. The Hot and Sour Soup was Just Ok. The Shrimp Mei Fun was Flavorless, and there was No Egg. The Teraki Beef Sticks were Almost as Thin as Cold Cuts, and My Wife’s Rost Pork Lo Mein Looked Dark and Un Appatising. I’m Sure Our Entire Order was NOT COOKED by the Same Person. So Can’t Blame it All on the Cook. But Can Blame it on the Owners/Management for Lower Quality Products, and Not Looking at the Food to See What Goes Out the Door.
Very Dissatisfied with the last few Visits. Especially after Our last Order. So after Over 10 Yrs. of Patronage I Will NOT BE GOING BACK.
As I had Said, there are Several Chinese Take Out places within 10 minutes of my house. 7 to be Exact. So We’ve found Our New Go to.
