What really makes this donut special is how well it pairs with coffee. I’m a huge coffee lover, and when this donut is made just right, the flavors complement each other beautifully instead of competing. The sweetness enhances the experience rather than overwhelming it, which is something that’s surprisingly hard to get right.
I’ve had this donut more than once, and while every visit has been enjoyable, what stands out most is how refined the flavor can be when the balance is on point. It’s the kind of donut that feels elevated, almost indulgent without crossing into excess.
Even better, I’ve noticed the coffee itself has gotten sweeter lately, which makes the pairing even more enjoyable. Together, the donut and coffee create a really satisfying experience that keeps me coming back. This is the kind of place that makes you appreciate the details.
The strawberry croissant was just okay. The croissant was a little less than fresh by mid afternoon. It was a bit dark for a croissant that isnt chocolate.
They need to take more care with their inventory. At home, we have a place like this inside our Asian grocery, but a different brand, and their items are always fresh, and the croquettes are warm any time of day.
The staff were very helpful and gave me the benefit of the doubt, replacing the burnt pastry and offered an extra pastry for my troubles. I will say the replacement was also overdone; I think the oven here runs hot and might need calibration. Either way, THANK YOU for good service recovery.
Initial review: I ordered through Doordash and was disappointed. I have been impressed with the Centreville and Alexandria locations over and over again this past year. From this location today, though, the pastry franks were the only delicious items. I also received a very weak Americano that I had to add a pack of Starbucks instant espresso to; a half-burnt crookie, a burnt red bean bread that my 4-year-old daughter won’t be able to tolerate, and a chocolate cream bread that was not burnt but mostly bread (bread scraps included in photo for color comparison to the burnt items). $50 after doordash service which I would have been fine paying, if I got good items. It almost seemed like they reserved burnt items for this order because it was delivery and thought I couldn’t protest. Well, I’m going back in person to request correctly baked replacements for the red bean bun and burnt crookie.
The sitting area in front of this small Paris Baguette location was clean and tidy, and the ample parking in front of H-Mart made it convenient to visit this cafe.
I took a couple of bites of Ganache cream cake and then noticed what looked like a strand of hair in the cake. It wasn’t just on the surface or stuck to the frosting, it was embedded between the layers. This means it got in during the production process, not just during packaging. I couldn’t eat the rest of that piece and had to throw it away. How does hair even end up in the manufacturing process?
I am Korean and have loved Paris Baguette since my time in Korea. I really love Paris Baguette’s bread and cakes, but this was very disappointing. Knowing how strict Paris Baguette’s quality control usually is, this was even more disappointing.
I chose not to post a review on Google and instead attempted to contact the company directly at first, but they ignored me. So here I am.
Next time we might eat here BEFORE shopping so we aren’t looking at groceries while hungry!
