I went to Market Edition for my birthday dinner and overall had a very good experience. The waitress and staff were very friendly and welcoming, which made the night special.
We started with the Sunburst salad and added shrimp — the shrimp was incredibly delicious and paired really well with the salad. For my main dish, I ordered the steak medium-well. Unfortunately, it was served cold, and the fries on the side were a bit too salty, which was disappointing.
That said, the waitress was very kind and offered us a free dessert (tiramisu) for our birthday, and it was amazing. Such a nice gesture and a great way to end the meal.
Overall, I would definitely come back and try more items from their menu. I hope they improve on the steak and sides in the future.

What a lovely spot in Tampa! I spent my afternoon in the lobby of the Edition enjoying their cafe. I had a yummy coffee as well as a red berry croissant which were both so good. The lobby is full or gorgeous plants and cozy seating. I read and enjoyed the atmosphere and all of the staff were so welcoming. This is a great spot and I can’t wait to stay here in the near future.

We came here over Christmas, and had s’mores one evening and breakfast the next day. The winter activation was adorable, they blew fake snow over the sidewalk and had multiple fires going. The s’mores were a little bit too elevated for me, orange dark chocolate instead of a Hershey bar was a little much, but it was still really fun and I would do it again.
Breakfast was phenomenal. 10 out of 10 would definitely deric head. It’s one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had using a sausage patty, and was really more of a burger than a sandwich

The experience was nice, and the hotel and decor is exceptional. The staff was great as well. I had the filet carpaccio and orecchiette and enjoyed mine. Husband had tuna tartare and lasagna and though he was fine with the tartare, I got a very fishy bite. I love tuna but I couldn’t eat another. His lasagna was dripping oil and he was having a hard time. We are both usually pretty easy going with food. Maybe we were being pickier since we were out for a romantic date….. in general we had a nice time, and the ambiance made for a cute date regardless. Menu posted since we had trouble finding it beforehand.

Worst experience ever. I order a ceaser salad with chicken and the chicken was stale and unseasoned. I told the waiter about the problem and he was kind enough to offer a new salad and I asked for it to go. I arrived home and opened the so called “salad” just to find half the portion of lettuce that was in the plate at the restaurant missing everything else and I spent $25 for this… not worth it and it’s honestly quite diabolical what I was given.

What a lovely place to visit after a long cruise! My wife and I just returned from cruising, and we wanted to try some local cuisine before heading to the airport. This place was a 5 minute walk from the port. We were offered a place to leave our luggage while dining, the staff was very friendly and attentive. Their recommendations were spot on, and we enjoyed everything we tasted. It’s reasonably priced for the portions, location & atmosphere. We were delighted with each dish and drink and highly recommend this place to all who enjoy fine dining, large portions, and unique cuisine. Can’t wait to visit this lovely establishment again. Thanks to our server Jessica for her impeccable professionalism!

We had a lovely meal and experience here. The food was absolutely delicious, and the drinks were well made. It was packed inside but they found us a lovely table outside. The weather was perfect, the meal was delicious. We had dinner. Items we had were the artichoke and it was amazing. The Cesar salad was perfect and the chicken was perfectly made. We also had the mushroom truffle pizza. All around a great experience. We will definitely be back.

Here is a little fun fact about going to Market at the Edition for brunch on the weekends. First, be prepared because most likely it will be busy…even if you stay at the hotel. Secondly, we have had the pleasure to eat there several times figuring out what items we like best. This led my wife and I to ask if we can create something off the menu. As the chef and management obliged our request we came up with something special. “Breakfast Pizza” was born and taken from a couple menu items. The pork and fennel sausage from the Market Egg Sandwich, along with a couple fried eggs, sit on top of the delicious margarita pizza made with buffalo mozzarella. It was top notch and had the attention of the staff and diners alike. Many places would never mess with the menu on a busy morning, but they absolutely crushed it. I would definitely give Market a solid 4.6 stars for everything they do. I’m not a fan of the pastry counter which I have tried multiple times with no luck. This would be the only reason not to rate it higher. Now is your time to go get that amazing creation. Anyone that relates as a “foodie” needs to show them this post with pictures and ask them to make it again, you will not be disappointed!
P.S.- the French toast on the kids menu is absolutely out of this world

This spot is all style over substance. It’s interesting to read about the great service from years past, because that was our chief complaint. The food was good and the drinks were fine, but on a Friday night, there was only one bartender, an inconsistent bar back, and no clear manager to pick up the slack. We waited over 20 mins for drinks, one of our rounds was completely forgotten about, and none of us had consistent water all night. I watched a dessert sit in the window for 15 mins before someone grabbed it. And there were plenty of staff. At one point there were 8 people around, but no one cleared our plates until we left. That’s dirty plates, glassware, and pizza tins just sitting on the across the end of the bar. For a hotel that charges $850 a night and focuses so much on the aesthetic, you would think is they wouldn’t be cool with a dirty bar. Whoever was managing last night should have done a better job. If Lilac is run this poorly, there’s no way the deserve their star. Yes, the place is stunningly beautiful, but maybe put more time and effort into staff training and not just the decor.
