La Costa opened a few weeks ago. I remember stopping by on Jan 3rd and it was a sports bar. La Costa specializes in Guatemalan and Salvadoran dishes as well as popular stuff like burritos, nachos and tacos. The server recommended that I try their garnachas $20 (fried tortilla with meat.) for lunch. This was OK. I’m not a fan of grated cotija cheese but can eat it. The fried tortilla was hard to eat in terms of toughness. It would have been nicer if it was fluffier like a taco salad shell.

It was only me and one other customer eating at lunch today. Previously there was a pool table in the middle. That’s gone now. The plancha (griddle) used to be by the window and made the restaurant smelled wonderful when they were cooking. The kitchen is relocated to the back room now. Service was excellent from the young male waiter.

I’ve been craving an El Salvadoran breakfast for a few weeks now and I stumbled on this place last night so we thought we’d give it a try. The food was authentic and satisfying. Service is almost non existent, which didn’t bother us, but to keep in mind if you’re one of those people that likes being served constantly. I liked the huevos con chorizo more than the desayuno Chapin. The streak was a bit on the saltier side. The pupusa was alright. Paired well with my chorizos.

They made a steak burrito on the spot even though it wasn’t on their menu and it was sooooo good! Definitely coming back! P. S. Their salsa is amazing!

The staff was ok but the pupusas with cheese I’m pretty sure is Monterey. The revueltas weren’t any better.
Not worth $50 for 10 plus they didn’t take credit cards .

Ordered 2 pupusa combos over the phone and make sure they repeated it to me cause they had the music blaring.. I get there for them only to say that I ordered the 2 pupusas no combo. I ask if they can give me two combos music still loud.. I leave come back to pay and to my surprise it’s ONLY ONE COMBO !!!
