This place is a treat. The food is yummy and the coffees are tasty. They have a wide selection of meal foods vs pastries. Just make sure to go early before they sell out.
Highly recommend their quesitos and the bori sandwich. Those were our two favorites. We are excited to try their smoothies next time in.

Hector the owner made the most memorable coffee I have ever had. Being Puerto Rican I can say this place makes me feel like I’m back home. Wonderful staff and very clean comfortable environment. If you want authentic Puerto Rican Food, Drinks, or sweets you can go wrong with Bori Café!!! Gracias por todo!!!

Authentic Puerto Rican food. This is a must have if you are looking for original Puerto Rican pastries. The service is great, the atmosphere is cozy and the place is beautiful. Plenty of parking space. My breakfast sandwich took me back to my childhood. I highly recommend it

This was my first time coming in and I loved it! Very quaint, good and simple food, and loads of coffee options. They have pastelillos, postres, cafe con leche and bocaditos. Good spot!

Saw a sign out front advertising Cuban sandwiches and had to stop, I try Cubans everywhere I travel and never pass one up. The place is cozy and inviting, but the sandwich missed the mark. For $12 you get a shoestring version: a thin smear of pork, two paper-thin slices of ham, barely any Swiss, four pickle chips, and a dash of mustard, all on non-traditional sweet bread similar to a media noche.
I overheard staff say it’s a Puerto Rican spin on Latin dishes, which is fine, but this is negligence. No mojo-marinated lechón, and the sandwich was starved of ingredients. The cortadito was mostly foam with no sugar, another miss.
Nice atmosphere, but if you’re craving an authentic Cuban or a proper cortadito, this ain’t it.

Stopped in after dropping off our daughter at UNC Wilmington. Felt as if we were back in Puerto Rico. Delicious sandwiches, pastries, frappes, and more. The coffee was exceptionally good. The owner spoke to us for a while and promises a more extensive menu (not just a cafe menu) in the coming months. Can’t wait!

We came for brunch and it did not disappoint! My stuffed crepe was so good! Caught myself checking out my husband’s breakfast wrap. I’ve got my eyes set on trying out the cubano next. The atmosphere was great. We enjoyed the music, the cute sitting area with the accent wall. It’s a family run business and you can feel it. Some reviews talk about the speed, but when it’s one person in the kitchen and watching the care they took to make it. You’ll be happy to wait. The son making the coffee makes the best latte and was very welcoming. As well as mom taking our order. We will be back!

Food is good and the coffee is great. Unfortunately, the wait is incredibly long. Waiting almost an hour for very basic food is not ideal. During that time, it would have been nice to offer a coffee refill or something small, though I understand that might be too much to ask.
I got my coffee at 11:00 am and my food at 12:00 pm. It would really help if customers were told upfront how long the wait will be before placing an order, so people can decide whether they want to wait or not. Honestly, the best option might be to eat at home and just come here for the coffee.

It’s verrryyy rare that I leave Google reviews, but I had to for this place. I initially tried the WilmiRicans food truck in 2022 and loved it, so I decided to give this place a go. I got a black iced coffee, guava frappe, an entregao (sandwich menu item) and a guava and cheese pastry. Service was prompt; food and drinks absolutely delicious. The ambiance inside is very inviting and home-like. Hampstead has changed in many ways over the last twenty years and this place is one of the changes that I welcome to the 9’s. My only suggestion would be to offer some more plantain-based dishes on the cafe menu, but that’s a minor stipulation that does not detract from the high quality food, drinks, and service Bori Cafe has to offer.
