right away, the restaurant was very warm and homey. we were quickly sat and got to ordering. our waiter was very helpful when it came to different menu options and recommendations, so we were able to order pretty quickly!
for an appetizer, we got the steamed dumplings, and for entrees, we got the chow mein and spammi sandwich. the portions were great, and the food was all delicious! i really liked the slaw that came with the spammi sandwich.
overall a great experience! i would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Our waiter was very kind and courteous and offered to help with suggestions when I mentioned it was my first time. He also recognized others in my group who had been there before which I found sweet.
Coming to the food, the Kung Pao Ding made with mushrooms with a bowl of rice was divine. The mushrooms had this amazing crispy texture on the outside without it feeling too oily or fried. The sauce was the right level of umami with a smoke undercurrent. Easily my star of the show.
The spring rolls were a bit underwhelming to be honest, and perhaps it was because I am not used to vegan spring rolls.
The oreo tres leches however was a return back to form, and I loved the moist, crumbly texture. I could sense a bit of coconut in the milk/ cream. Was a fantastic dessert.
There was a small mixup with the billing where we were charged for a couple of dishes that we hadn’t ordered, but they immediately rectified it and gave us a new bill when we pointed it out.
Overall, I had a great time and I can sure see why it has such a great reputation among the vegan crowd at Kellogg.
Starting with the hospitality of the staff. Jojo was amazing and so delightful!!
The food was really authentic and well made! The laksa was the highlight for me. The dumplings and springrswere my least favorite.
The sandwich (kingwich) was terrific! A vegan twist on a classic chicken sandwich!
The mac and cheese had a very strong nutritional yeast taste to it which isn’t my favorite but i understand that that’s how they can achieve a cheese consistency!
The tiramisu was to die for!!
Overall it was a 9/10 experience and jojo was so attentive and wonderful it maybe a 10/10 because of jojo.
Their menu ranges from appetizers to entrees and desserts. You also get the option to get your food made with vegan protein instead of mushroom.
I got the drumsticks, shrimp, and fries. All amazingly made with lively flavors.
When we are back in this area, we will definitely return!
