March 4, lunch time special, take out, general tso.
1. Chicken had no flavor.
2. Fried rice tasted weird.
3. Chicken was too big and no knife to cut it.
4. $11 plus. Then added tip thinking I would get better food. Didn’t happen.
5. Waited 10 min.
Final thoughts… go to MR. YOU!

I feel sorry for the delivery driver as the sweet and sour sauce was put in a cardboard takeout container and spilled over all food and soaked through bag and box it was in. I also ordered cashew chicken, which I ended up with mostly mushrooms and SHRIMP! SO DISAPPOINTED!

Pork had a weird taste I actually spit out one piece… Mongolian beef totally different of what I remember…haven’t been in years thought I would try it again and probably will not again…something was just off with the meal .I don’t wish anyone bad juju but food was not up to par…

Ordered Shrimp Fried Rice, was given chicken. Complained and they called me a liar, said I got what I ordered. They put broccoli stem cubes in the Cashew Shrimp, that is not listed on the menu and is very unappetizing. The Crab Rangoons are all Wonton wrapper and no filling. Way over priced, lacking flavor. Won’t be back.

Portion sizes are on the smaller side, which is good because you probably won’t want to eat everything.

Sarcasm aside, my last few orders have been small (I’m not too demanding but a $13 combo plate should have more than 6 pieces of chicken), the fried rice isn’t cooked to order, and despite the food usually being hot and fast; it somehow tastes stale. The strip mall in which it resides is also filled with sketchy vape stores and a lot overwhelmed with pot holes.

Hoping things improve as this place is dear, as well as convenient! China Inn South has long been a pillar of Holland’s Chinese scene. My folks used to take me to the old one on 32nd for many fondly remembered meals. Hoping things improve because we sincerely do enjoy this restaurant.

My recent experiences with this restaurant have left me disappointed, and I am hesitant to order from here again. I’ve utilized Grubhub delivery three times, ordering an entrée and hot sour soup each time. Unfortunately, my dissatisfaction stems from inconsistencies in the orders.

On the first two occasions, the hot sour soup was replaced with a different entrée, leading to a sense of frustration. Although my latest order did include the hot sour soup, it deviated significantly from my expectations. Rather than the familiar texture of hot and sour soup, it resembled more of an egg drop soup with unexpected additions such as mushrooms, carrots, and an unfamiliar meat. Regrettably, the flavor profile did not align with any traditional hot and sour or egg drop soup I have experienced, and I found it to be unappealing.

Additionally, I ordered the Hot & Spiced Szechuan Chicken Combo Plate with chicken fried rice. The chicken fried rice was disappointing, featuring large, tasteless pieces of chicken that did not enhance the overall dish. Furthermore, the Hot & Spiced Szechuan Chicken failed to live up to its name—it lacked the promised heat and spiciness, and the overall taste was underwhelming.

So disappointed!! If I were the owners from China Inn North I would ask them to change their name, they are not affiliated with each other. Everything was flavorless, over cooked and tasted “old”.

Their food is not near as good as north side China inn. Their portions are small- my meal container was only half full for $11.the Mongolian beef is lacking sauce flavor and beef tasted over cooked. The egg drop soup was congealed thick. The crunchy noodles are not as crisp and tasty and they would not replace my meal, only offered a free egg roll for a lacking meal and a new drive to get real food. Don’t make the mistake I made thinking the two places were of equal quality.

We ordered around dinner time and the rice seemed like it was from earlier that day and the crab ragoons were super hard. The food didn’t seem very fresh. I have ordered from here before with the same results.
