The waitress barely spoke to us. I got the grilled cheese sandwich. The bread was nearly burnt and the cheese inside wasn’t even melted. Food was cold. My son got the kids burger, the patty was burnt. The food was insanely expensive. Would not return. Only went for the convenience of being on site.

We were a bit skeptical about the place due to the bad reviews but ended up eating there as its the only place on premises. I’m glad we gave it a chance! Our hostess/waitress was very nice and gave us just enough attention. She made sure we had all we needed and we did not feel rushed. We ordered all 4 appetizers instead of a full dish. The portions were huge! Way more food than two people can eat for a very good price.
The cheese curds were good. No different then any other place. The garlic parm chicken wings were great. The burnt ends had some fatty pieces but over all great flavor. Would definitely get those again. The tater tots with pulled pork were also good.

One could argue this might be the worst food a restaurant could have served in the state of Wisconsin. If it weren’t for the tasty New Glarus beers I would have walked out. My wife and I both got salads and soup, pretty hard to mess up, right?! This was bagged salad and canned soup at best. Seriously, a salad that features bacon and I was served fake bacon bits, chicken in the soup was exactly the chicken you find in Cambells. Not sure a finger of effort was lifted in the kitchen. If you are staying at Timber Ridge do yourself a favor and DON’T eat here.

We were looking for a good place to have barbecue since we weren’t from the area and this is where Google brought us! We didn’t realize that when we got there that it was actually inside of a water park hotel. We had a nice view of the waterpark at the table we were sitting at. The menu was a little bit Limited so it was hard to decide what to get. We’ve seen that they had burnt ends and that’s not something that we usually see on a menu so we were looking forward to trying those out, they were a little bit fatty but they tasted great the barbecue sauce was fantastic! We also tried the cheese curds were alright but the dipping sauce wasn’t that great. After receiving our check we waited about 10 minutes for the waitress to come back and take our payment but she never did so we ended up giving it to another waitress so that we could leave. It was an okay experience and I really did like the barbecue sauce but we’re not from the area so I doubt that we will probably return.

We were hesitant given the previous bad reviews however it seems the restaurant has been rebranded to Moose & Maple. We went on a Saturday night (staying at Timber Ridge). Very friendly hostess and waitress. Our food came within 10 minutes and was well prepared (lemon chicken and vegetable du joir below). We came early – didn’t need reservations. Seems like they made the much needed changes from the previous establishment.

Great place to for takeout after a busy day at the water park and other activities. Especially when you have two little kids. The food was great! We orders the kids spaghetti and meatballs, boneless Thai wings and a garden salad.

This was a nice family friendly breakfast spot that we really joined since it was right next to the water park. Kids really like it. The food was good.

I ordered the Philly Brisket Sandwich. It was ok. Very fatty brisket. Not much on the sandwich, so there was a lot of extra bread. Had a side salad and was plenty.
Service was ok.

They’ve got you once you’re here at the resort. It’s the only restaurant so the wait is long and the prices are high. Not to mention this is average bbq at best.

The bbq/smoke flavor was very tame as if to play it safe for all the kids eating here. I didn’t hate the ribs or the brisket but it certainly didn’t leave me feeling like I had to go back here. The best thing we had was the fried cheese curds but those are almost impossible to mess up.

I thought the portions were very good but the high prices were in relation to other bbq spots and what I received.

Our thought was that we would maximize water park time by eating here but the long wait negated that. I’d recommend going off site for better food, value and to get back in the pools faster.

We have been to Smokey’s BBQ three times while staying at Timber Ridge. It is one of the most reasonable priced restaurants of the two resorts. My son loves the massive Cheese Curd Brat burger, my wife enjoys the ribs and I liked the pulled pork sandwich. The chicken sandwich was just “okay” and the Smokeys club is a bit too greasy. The brisket was alright, but It isn’t the most tender brisket I have eaten. The fried cheese curds were good, but we weren’t a fan of the fried pickles. Altogether it’s nice place to eat and conveniently located when enjoying the waterpark.
