Our go to Chinese food despite sometimes food can be a bit greasy but flavor is always there. Just gotta order the right food. Dimsum is a hit or miss but usually they are consistent with dumplings and shiu mai. Ambience is nice and clean. They have food for authentic Chinese food and American Chinese food.

Have nice large round tables, good to dine with large groups.

We decided to try the dim sum at Royal Palace as it’s a bit closer to home for us. For the most part the food was good. However the breaded squid with spicy salt wasn’t spicy at all, and the batter was sweet, almost like pancake or French toast. Also the chili oil is very thin… mostly just oil. The prices were a bit higher than we’re used to, and our total for three people is what we normally pay for four at Golden Harvest.

While I have heard good things about here and their dim sum menu. I was not impressed. Some items were much higher priced than they should have been. The selection was smaller than China Palace and Shangri-La, and what I ordered wasn’t as good.

Menu did have a wide choices of other more traditional Chinese dishes and some American Chinese. Some aimed for family group like all the soups being for 4-6 people.

Every one in the group did enjoy their food and the amount of dishes were good size. Service was good and the food came out fast. We were even allowed separate checks. Lots of parking available.

No fountain drink do diet Coke in a can and I had to ask for a glass of ice.

Glad I tried it, but the group agreed we will stick to other places for dim sum and traditional Chinese food.

Terrible Dim Sum and terrible prices. Quality is horrendous and let me explain.
Congee is full of flour instead of rice. Beef tripe has no flavor. 蘿蔔糕 turnip cake, the turnip and flour is separated so every bit you either get turnip or a mouth full of flour. Ground pork in dumplings is old so tasted gamey. 糯米雞Lotus wrapped chicken is too greasy, too much pork fat in the stuffing. Tea is $3.50 a person. If only one person in a group get tea they still charge everybody which is ridiculous.

I don’t have high hope for good quality dim sum in metro Detroit but this place should close soon. Basically they use the cheapest Ingredients they can buy and charge full price for it. Might as well buy frozen dim sum and steam it at home instead of wasting time and money here.

2024: My wife and I went back again for Dim Sum on a Saturday afternoon about a year after the first time. They updated their menu. The Dim Sum was very good and we also ordered some fried noodles with soy sauce and asked them to add beef, that was also good. We had no complaints about anything at this place and the staff are great. The food took under 10 minutes to come out.

2023: This place is located where the East Lake Chinese restaurant used to be. They serve Dim Sum anytime so we tried it one weekday evening and ordered 6 items. Their Dim Sum was good and we will definitely go again. The staff are all very friendly.

I recently visited this place with some skepticism as the google review was just 3.9. However, I’m pleasantly surprised to find that that the food here, especially its Sichuan style cuisine, was quite authentic. I have been here twice since and each time I had quite delightful dining experience. Would recommend to people who are interested in spicy Sichuan style food to give this place a try. Recommended dishes include mapo tofu, cumin lamb, cauliflower dry pot, cold bean jelly.

Avoid this place like the plague. I ordered Vegetable Lo-mein with tofu (Tofu is an extra charge) I found 4 pieces of broccoli, and 3 pieces of carrot. What about absolute rip off. I was very polite to the staff, but nothing got through to them. The Manager (assumption) was a real treat to deal with. Seriously, this place is horrendous. I’m had better/warmer meals from a buffet. As I’m writing this, the customer next to me is also complaining about her food to the staff.

At least I know why there are never any cars in the lot.

I’ve driven to Windsor, Canada and waited in line for hours in San Francisco to have authentic Chinese food. Now I only have to drive a few minutes to Royal Palace Of Troy. Their food is nothing short of incredible. Very authentic. Better than anything I’ve eaten in Windsor, Canada or San Francisco. The people are extremely courteous. The atmosphere is amazing! Try their ginger, chicken and Shu Mai .

One of the best Chinese restaurants in the area. Very authentic, and less “American Chinese” options. I feel that’s why there is mixed reviews. The waitresses were very kind and provided a complementary bbq pork baozi at the end of the meal.
