My breakfast was 13 dollars, the portions were larger than my head. I have never been more full in my life. The food was delicious. If your driving through and are hungry it is worth coming in.

Absolutely amazing food. It was somewhat busy but the cook got our food out in perfect time. Not super quick to where we couldn’t talk but not too slow to where we wondered.
Well done.

We stopped in for lunch on our way to Mountain View as the reviews mostly looked very positive. We sat down and eventually someone came over to take our order. After we gave our order, I noticed several others coming in and waiting much longer than we did for someone to finally come and at least acknowledge that they were there.

When our food came, which was brought out individually in staggered times, it did take awhile for everyone to get their food. The items ordered were all good but the service was definitely lacking. This is just a guess but I bet it took an additional 20 minutes for everything we ordered to finally be brought to the table. The final things were just basic items too, like condiments, cottage cheese, etc, so nothing that needed to be cooked.

Overall take — The price for everything was very affordable, food was great but the service from the waitress was definitely lacking.
Not sure what had been going on in the bathroom for the sign to be posted on the mirror but I’m guessing it was something that required a lot of extra cleaning.

We went to Branson for vacation for 5 days and this is the best restaurant we have had and I plan to actually go back and drive 2 hours from where I live because this food is homemade and some of the best I have ever had. The people were also extremely nice and seemed like real people , definitely a must stop , also loved that there were like 5 types of fries, can’t wait to come back for pie. Also best priced foods I have ever ran into.

So I’m a huge lover of southern Missouri nature. The eleven point river is my personal church. I try to float it a least once a year! And I’m going to have my ashes scattered their when i do finally pass. So this last June I took week long vacation. To celebrate finally healing from a 3 1/2 year illness. Thyroid disease then sleep apnea. I made a few trips up to Eminence and everyone was cool. But almost everyone in any town along hwy 60 van buren, winona, and birch tree was really on edge. I enjoyed my trip in spite of all the rudeness and the unbelievably messed up incident that I had at Gramma Nells that I’m about to get into. But since then in the back of my mind. I’ve been wondering what the hell was wrong with everyone.
I recently found out that I had unknowingly planned my vacation at the same time that the rainbow people where have their gathering. So now it all makes sense. They thought I was the rainbow people.
I can totally see why the locals down there would feel like they where being invaded. I read a few reviews from last summer of people who were being treated with disrespect or ignored by staff. Who I get the impression were people like me. Outdoor enthusiasts on vacation who had no idea that the rainbow gathering was going on. That didn’t understand why they were being treated with such disrespect. And now that I know what I know. If I was just treated rudely. That would be nothing to take personally. Because were all human. We all have a thresh hold on how much we can take. And if you country town is being over run by a bunch of hippies. Who are panhandling and bathing in local public bathrooms your going to get fed up. And unfortunately lots of people are going to start assuming that every face that isn’t local is one of the hippy invaders.
What happened is I went into gramma nells to eat breakfast and get a lunch order to go to eat on the river. The waitress SEEMED nice. She took both orders. I spoke to her the way I would any person male or female who has ever waited on me in 46 years. Thought everything was fine. Then she goes over to the table of locals sitting right next to me. And say’s loudly so the entire dinning room can hear. BOY SOME MEN DON’T REALIZE THAT IT’S MY JOB AS A WAITRESS TO BE NICE AND THAT I’M NOT FLIRTING WITH THEM!!!!! THEY ALL TURN AND LOOK AT ME AND SAY REEEAAALY!!!! WHILE THEY ARE ALL LOOKING AT ME SHE SHAKES HER HEAD AND GIVES ME A NASTY LOOK THEN SHE SAY’S YEP AND DADDY WARNED ME THAT I WOULD HAVE TO LOOK OUT FOR CREEPY MEN LIKE THIS WHEN I TOOK THIS JOB!!!!! And this girl couldn’t have been more than 22 or 23 years old if that. I’m clearly 15+ years older than her if not old enough to be her father. So I just remained calm. Didn’t react, just ate my food while being eyeballed the whole time. And I still gave her a 5$ tip. This incident would have been about June 8th, 9th or 10th. She was around 5’6 average to skinny build with black or brunette hair.
Like I said I get why the locals would be so up tight with everything going on at the time. But to the young ”lady” you crossed a serious line! I know that you were just aching to be able to have your own storie that you could boast about to local folks. About how you had to stick it to one of the rainbow invaders and put them in their place. And you saw that opportunity with me! Make no mistake! What you did was PUBLICLY AND FALSELY ACCUSE AN INNOCENT MAN OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT. Fact is I could file a lawsuit against you and the restaurant for what you did! Don’t believe me do a simple google search. What you did was defamation and intentional infliction of emotional stress. So there is 2 years statue of limitations to file a lawsuit for those charges. I have 1 and 1/2 year to decide. Regardless of what I do. I hope you decided to learn from this incident and make better choices in the future. The the restaurant owner maybe you want to have a talk with your employees about this. Good luck to you all!

Nice little home town restaurant. We had burgers. Really BIG! Very fresh. 6 fry choices-crinkle, tots, sweet potato, curly, home, and waffle fries. Creamy coleslaw was good, too.

I was a bother to the staff here. The food was good but…the cherry pie was a joke. After my food was brought out, I was ignored like the plague even when I was the only one in the place. The locals get treated well. If you are a traveler, skip this one.
