This place was phenomenal. Every dish, except for the gnocchi and panna cotta was executed well. Steak was perfectly cooked pasta was al dente. They incorporated local seafood into the menu, so this is not a classic Italian menu, but it’s outstanding. The service was exceptional and the atmosphere was cozy. Didn’t try mixed drinks, but the battle of wine was perfect. Would definitely return here the next time we are in town.

Best Italian food since leaving Italy. Closest to traditional osso bucco, seafood risotto, cacio pepe, and real bolognese! Thank you! Jo was a very attentive and sweet server. Definitely will return if I am fortunate enough to come back to Bar Harbor!

This spot was beautiful. The food was all very tasty. Especially the focassia bread (we forgot to take the photo of it until most of it was gone, oops.) Our service was very professional and speedy. The atmosphere was set purposefully and lovely.

Porcelli’s in Bar Harbor is among my best experiences dining around the world. Everything from the walk into the charming, romantic home it is housed in to the bar that sits central in the downstairs to the staff greeting us began the evening beautifully.
A lovely glass of Pinot Grigio, of course, to the dreamy, handmade focaccia started us off and immediately transported us to Bella Italia.
As they say, when in Roma. Speaking of Roma, the tomatoes in the Mussels broth and the mussels themselves were divine. Fresh, locally sourced! Dipping the focaccia into the mussel broth, perfect.
Dinner held one of the best roasted chicken I have had over handmade gnocchi with pesto cream, to the Pesce which was incredible locally sourced, fresh, roasted, perfectly cooked Haddock over a green pea risotto, to seafood risotto with fresh, locally sourced and also perfectly prepared scallops, lobster, mussels and more, to the classic Italian Bolognese over divine handmade flat noodles accompanied with a light, fresh lemon ricotta.
Dessert was a Mount Desert Island homemade Sea Salt Caramel Ice Cream and a flourless chocolate cake. Both were as incredible as they sound, and even better when paired together.
Chef John even made our night by coming out and asking how we were enjoying our meal! The manager, wait staff and bartender were equally as attentive and friendly. 5 stars all around!
On a nice evening you can dine outside or inside. If there were more stars, they deserve them. Like Italy, the people and food were perfetta.
Porcelli’s is a must! Make your reservations now.

We got an outside porch table with our pup’s. Fantastic food! All were delighted. Photo of pork chop with mashed potatoes and mixed veggies. Wonderful!

Great experience from beginning to end. Place has a great atmosphere and vibe, we were celebrating our anniversary and they did it special for us. Our server Ben was very personable and professional, he gave us great recommendations and we enjoy every single bite. We started with focaccia and marinated olives, then we had the house salad, super fresh and full of flavor, and for main course we ordered Gnocchi and orecchiette and both dishes were phenomenal. I had 2 bourbon cocktails super tasty as well, no room for dessert, but we love every moment of our night there. Thank you so much and hope to be back soon.

The menu looked incredible, and everything we saw coming out to other tables looked amazing. Unfortunately, we sat for 20 minutes without ever seeing a server. Meanwhile, the tables around us were checked on multiple times, and no one even stopped to fill our water glasses. For a place with higher prices, the service was very disappointing.

The wild mushroom risotto was divine! I enjoyed it. The ravioli was delicious too, but the risotto was the favorite. Very nice and peaceful ambiance. Perfect for a romantic dinner and have a nice glass of wine (they have a wide variety of wines).
Service was excellent. Attentive but not to much.
They have high chair for kiddos.

This had so much promise but ended in total failure. My partner loved her food until she was home and spent the rest of the night in the bathroom. It was the chicken piccata. I had the ravioli stuffed with short rib. Very large ravioli’s that were in a Cacio E Pepe sauce. As I broke into my first ravioli work further into the ravioli it was ice cold. These ravioli were premade (not a big issue but obviously then frozen and not even close to be heated up properly. This dish was $44 now I don’t care about price if I get a good meal but to do such a poor job on all levels is unacceptable. I was drawn into the ratings being so good but this is a place I will never visit again. Oh by the way they did make me another plate to go and offered me a desert. So I did get an additional cannoli for my experience. Never Again or at the very least don’t get any plate with the Cacio E Pepe sauce being used.

So delicious! Worth the money! We ordered meatballs with polente OMG caprese and the bruschetta, all amazing! The filet, raviolis and two different pastas-all amazing!! Abbigail took fantastic care of us while giving happy chill vibes and excellent recommendations. Everyone was so nice and helpful! Our friend that came with us is a chef and was highly impressed! I didn’t even take pictures because it all looked so yummy we gobbled it up to fast!
