Sense of place. Remember where you are. This is Saint Jo, North Texas Hill Country, a pub on the town’s central square. Outside are buckets of flowers and American flags. A big picture window with lettering invites you to peek inside. Upon entering, you’re enveloped in hunter green walls, creaky wooden floors and a physically cool place. Cool, but not cold, a place to literally chill at the bar or gather on sofas with friends. Maybe set yourself down at one of the huge circular tables and just stare at the walls. Creatively dim lighting enhances your ability to relax. Youthful servers may not have all the understanding of a Manhattan barkeep, but they try. Remember, sense of place. Enjoy one of their seasonal drinks or just go for a glass of wine. Order the simplest things on the menu because this is what works best here. Take time out to let yourself enjoy a long chat with a good friend, or maybe some silly laughs over something that happened last week, or twenty years ago. This Grazing Grove is just that, a place to graze and muse in the grove of a small town surrounded by the history of a town square, cattle drives, and people just making a living. Very recommended.

This review is going to be honest and unbiased. I hope they’ll use my criticism constructively to better their establishment.

I am excited there’s a new restaurant/bar in town however I was disappointed with the quality of the food. I had the chicken, spinach, tomato & pesto panini. There were two large, thick tomato’s that overwhelmed the overall flavor of this sandwich. The chicken was sponge-like, flavorless and I’m sure kept frozen then microwaved. I find it odd why they don’t advertise sides to go with the sandwiches or paninis.
My friend had the turkey, bacon, Swiss & avocado panini and he said it was just “okay”.
Now that the food has been explained I want to say the water here is not very good…You can taste the chlorine and whatever other chemicals are in it. I encourage them to install a reverse osmosis filtration system as this will take all the nasty flavors and chemicals out leaving you with great tasting water. This will also enhance the flavor of all the beverages where water is used.
We were given free king cakes unfortunately those were a disappointment too. The icing tasted good however the cake was mostly dry…almost like eating a very thick slice of dry bread.
The building is very cool and well designed. It’s an open concept building with a cool bar and many drink options. I’m sure this would be a cool place to enjoy a drink but I’d be hesitant to eat their food.

Jordan and everyone at The Grazing Grove are amazing. They went ABOVE and beyond to serve our medium sized group. The food was 100! Delicious sandwiches and Salads. Cannot recommend enough.

This restaurant is top notch! Last week, they helped us host my mother’s celebration of life. Jaclyn, the manager, took care of every detail on very short notice. The night was classy, the food was delicious, and I couldn’t have picked a better place to celebrate my mom. A huge thanks to Jordan (owner), Jaclyn, and all the staff for making our night so special. We will definitely be back.

Dinner at the Grove! 4 course pre-fixe meal, reservation only night out in Saint Jo, TX. Everything, from beginning to end, was spectacular. The food was delicious and the people and atmosphere were great! Something you’d typically have to drive to Denton and beyond for. It was such a success, that they are going to make this a regular thing! We are already looking forward to the next one! What an enjoyable evening!

The Grazing Grove will be a new destination for us, in spite of the 40 minute drive. Good food, great service, and great digs. Been waiting for a place like this in Saint Jo.
