Planted Bloomington is a plant-based food truck and catering business servicing Bloomington, Monroe County, Brown County and the surrounding areas.
Our truck menu and catering options change frequently to focus on local, seasonal, and high quality ingredients and to allow for the culinary creativity of our chefs.
We cater to accommodate the needs of just about any gathering.
We are committed to keeping our carbon footprint small; both the truck and catering use zero-single use plastic.
Our plant-based ice cream is now available in Bloomingfoods East and West and the Bloomington Farm Stop Collective.
Because we are 100% plant-based all of our food is alpha-gal safe. Almost all of our food either is or can be made gluten-free.

Really good vegan food! The food truck has open-faced sandwiches (“flats”), ice cream, and kombucha on tap. Sometimes there are other seasonal specials. The flats are really creative, which is a very nice change of pace in a city without a lot of adventurous vegan options. I tried their black oak (apple butter bbq jackfruit) and sumac (roasted squash and whipped sumac “feta”) flats. Both were delicious with interesting flavours. Their vegan ice cream is also pretty good. The vanilla and Mexican chocolate ice creams were pretty smooth but the texture on the apple butter was a little icier compared to most dairy ice cream, but not in an unpleasant way. The apple butter flavour was so good and not too sweet. You can get the ice cream as plain scoops or in a sundae, and the caramel pie crust sundae was heavenly- the cinnamon pie crust pieces were delicious on their own.
The people who work the truck are very nice. I so appreciate the commitment to sustainability. They serve their food in paper containers with wood cutlery (that actually works), and if you bring your own cup for kombucha you get $1 off.

I had some returns to make and stopped by Bloomington Food Truck Fridays. We have a few favorites we visit while there, but Hands Down the Stand Out was the Planted food truck! Unique flavors, ingredients, and combinations that I had never experienced. And absolutely Gorgeous! I appreciate meat just as much as the next carnivore, but I honestly did Not miss it! Their menu changes to reflect availability of seasonal ingredients, and yesterday I had the opportunity to experience the Sycamore, the 1st day it was on the menu. MUST TRY! The staff IS Super Accommodating and answers ingredient questions with ease to aid in making selections with dietary restrictions. They even wrote the menu item on the boxes at my request (so I knew which one was which ). I actually returned two weeks later, and Nicole remembered my name instantly (with a beautiful smile )! Planted is a true gem!

Very delicious food, well made and curated. Excellent balance of flavors and looks great too. I think anyone, vegan to omnivore, could enjoy this food. Also, their dairy-free vanilla ice cream is possibly the best ice cream I have ever tasted anywhere, bar none – rich, creamy, vanilla flavor, absolutely stunning!

Had an incredible experience with Planted Bloomington Food Truck! I tried their Dagwood – a Reuben-inspired sandwich with marinated jackfruit, Swiss “cheese,” Russian dressing, sauerkraut, and fresh dill. It was absolutely mouthwatering, a perfect plant-based twist on a classic favorite. The Garlic Scape Pesto Kohlrabi salad was a delightful, refreshing side dish that perfectly complemented the sandwich. ✨
I enjoyed this amazing meal at the grand opening of Badknees, a super cool T-shirt store in Bloomington, Indiana. The event was fantastic, and it was great to connect with fellow Bloomington locals. I even learned about the Bloomington Stories Podcast and picked up one of their awesome T-shirts. ️
Planted Bloomington Food Truck made the event even better with their delicious food and friendly vibes. Highly recommend checking them out if you’re in the area!

I enjoyed a flat at Planted yesterday. Fried tofu on muddy fork bread with tikka masala sauce, cilantro and a spicy kick. Dessert was apple cinnamon pinwheels. Tasty pastry! Filling and fun. Perfect for Saturday lunch at the market.

Planted is not your usual good truck food. It is an elevated culinary experience with inspiring combinations of ingredients and flavors. We learned that everything is locally sourced and vegan. We loved every bite…and then theit ice cream OMG, wow, please sell it in grocery stores! It was amazing.
I also love that they use compostable takeout containers.
They change their menu depending on what is in season, so you will always find some new items on their menu.

I had two sandwiches. I ate a Violet first a Bahn-mi inspired sandwich with mint and tofu. It was excellent. I went back for Dogwood a sandwich similar to a Ruben. The quality of ingredients seemed excellent and I talked to the staff. This place is amazing and they don’t advertise enough how much work and care they put into the preparation of their food. They prepare all in Bloomington, they don’t use industrial food. They source all ingredients locally. Amazing. I also tried their ice cream (I went back another time) I loved their sesame ice cream.

I had only recently heard of Planted Bloomington. I was vending at the farmers market and was famished! My cousin grabbed me the Aster (I think) and it was everything!!! So freaking good! Their flavors are on point and they even make sure to have different textures going on. It was a huge bonus that it was soy free as well as vegan!

Want to preface by saying I’m not vegan, if you’ve never had meat then my comments will be useless. I tried some of their plant based protein, looks like meat tastes nothing like it. Their Tzaziki sauce also doesn’t taste like Tzaziki, rice is slightly overcooked. I was kinda dissapointed at my first vegan experience, but maybe I just like the taste of meat too much.
btw couldn’t finish a plate and I’m not a picky eater at all, this was genuinely inedible for me.

Plant-based. Local. Seasonal. These words definitely catch my attention. Planted’s food is creative and delicious. While i favor all of their savory flats, i love ice cream and recently had the Chai. It was very creamy with a subtle, satisfying flavor. So glad to have Planted in our town!
