Upscale Filipino restaurant. Definitely have a good selection of food and they also participate in Dine LA every year so you can get a four course menu but you can also add on. The Kare Kare Tamale is very good with a peanut veloute sauce on top. It’s a great appetizer. Next I got the Crispy Pasta that comes with crispy pork hock over spinach. Crispy Duck Pancit was next and it was recommended by my server Kai which was very nice and knowledgeable of the menu. I decided to also order the Crab Fired Rice off the regular menu (it’s also on Dine LA) because both options look too good to pass. I HIGHLY recommend you add that on to your order, it’s great for sharing. I ended with Ube Cheesecake because you can’t go to a Filipino place and not have ube.I also got a scoop of their seasonal homemade ice cream. It was Thai Tea flavored. I ordered the featured Calamansi Mojito along with it (it can be done with or without liquor or your choice of liquor). Parking is street parking and a few lots around but I didn’t have any problems. It is a nice quiet restaurant but kids are allowed of course. Ground floor building makes it easier if you need wheelchair access. A few vegan options as well

I’ve been here twice and both times were phenomenal. Nice and quiet environment with delicious entrees with the taste of the Philippines.

Purists might say it’s not true and more fusion but regardless, this place has been the best/most delicious Filipino food I’ve had in my life.

I highly suggest their prefix menu with six courses. Everything was delicious. The papaya salad was surprisingly phenomenal, the kare kare tamale was delicious, the fried fish was excellent, the ribeye was also great. Every dish was delicious and presented quite elegantly too. Definitely worth a visit.

Customer service was great and actually met the owners/chef. A phenomenal spot and a place I’ll be going to often.

I’d definitely come back here again just based off my visits. Free street Parking can be hard to find but across the way there is paid parking.

Recently went to Sampa for my girlfriend’s and my birthday. I usually don’t like fusion, but wanted to try something different since this place does Filipino fusion. The shared plates were pretty small, but the entrees were huge. We ordered 5-6 entrees for our group of 8 plus some shared plates and it was the perfect amount. Service was top notch and they surprised us with a birthday dessert, which was a nice touch. I was worried about the price going in, but it was well worth it. Had a great time and will definitely be back for another special occasion.

Food was amazing and unlike anything I’ve had so far in LA! Will definitely be back and recommending this place to my friends 🙂 highly recommend the crab fried rice and crispy pasta. They also have a super unique and delicious selection of drinks (mocktails and cocktails). The service was also great, the chef came out to greet us and the staff were super friendly. The presentation of the dishes was also really nice, everything looked and tasted so good. Come check it out if you can!

Loved my experience at Sampa in LA. They do an amazing job of creatively elevating Filipino food while still keeping the flavors familiar and comforting. Everything felt thoughtful but not overdone, and each dish had a fun, modern twist. One of the coolest parts was getting to meet the chef—you can really feel the passion and care behind the food. It’s awesome to see Filipino cuisine presented in such a fresh way. Definitely a spot I’d come back to and recommend to friends.

The restaurant is atmospheric and encapsulates you right at the entrance. The seating areas are nice and dark, so it really sets the mood. The view of the kitchen area is a nice touch of entertainment, it really shows you how much work is put into the dishes!

Our server Erik was very attentive and made sure we were always topped off. The food was fresh, aesthetically pleasing, and had a zing to its flavors. The portions were just right – I initially thought they were small but once I finished them, I realized I felt pretty full. You can tell how much I like the dish from the before and after!

We came here for the Dine LA menu and it did not disappoint, absolutely recommended.

I’ve been meaning to try Sampa for the longest time. We came to Sampa during DineLa week and the food and service (Eric was our server) was excellent! For DineLa week, they offer $35 brunch menu. Everything was delicious, but my personal favorite was the crab omelet and chicken wings. This restaurant is definitely worth the try!

Sampa in Los Angeles puts a creative spin on Filipino flavors, and it totally works. The cucumber salad was refreshing, the black garlic ravioli was rich and unique, and the kare kare tamale was packed with flavor. The calamansi beignets were a fun surprise—crispy, light, and super tasty. The crab fried rice tied everything together perfectly. Their modern take on Filipino classics feels fresh but still comforting. Definitely worth checking out if you’re into bold, well-balanced dishes.

It was a Sunday night and the place was pretty empty. We came in for the pasta tasting menu. The inside of the restaurant is very dark and moody, not my preferred atmosphere but not really important. The staff was incredibly friendly. The hostess was friendly, the bartender greeted us on the way in, and our server was very friendly. The staff was also very attentive.

The menu is simple but not lacking options. The options sounded awesome.

They were willing to accomodate dietary preferences even though it was a set tasting menu which was unexpected and very much appreciated.

Aside from the pasta tasting menu (which was absolutely delicious, ESPECIALLY the foie gras ravioli), we got the oxtail tamales and the broccolini. I will never look at tamales the same way again. They were so good, and we had to order a side of bread to get all the sauce off the plate. The broccolini was smokey and paired well with the beets sauce.

For dessert, we got the souffle, and the beignets. The souffle was incredible and the beignets came home for breakfast (still good the next day).

The ube beer was fun to try and went well with the meal.

In all, it was an incredible experience and if you are considering dining here, I would run, not walk.

hello there
We were lucky enough to sneak in on a night that had a tasting menu …
The Kare Kare Tamal was a perfect representation of Fusion Food!
I’m usually not a fan of panacotta, but damn the Halo Halo Ube panacotta was insanely good! Literally what you imagine what it would taste like.
The best part of the experience though was Matthew our server. He was so accomodating, you could tell he was genuinely happy and passionate in providing good hospitality. It was really a pleasure being served by him …. Thankyou Matthew
