I visited on a Friday afternoon right before New Year’s and was greeted warmly by the staff inside. As I was indecisive on what to order in the ramen section, I asked the staff for suggestions. She was kind to walk me through the menu without rushing to get an order, and she mentioned that their most popular item is actually the beef noodles. That was all I needed to make a decision to try the beef noodles.
While waiting for the food, I chatted with the staff and learned that the restaurant opened right before the pandemic then shifted their model to take-out only as the pandemic begin. Since then, they’ve tried to make use of their restaurant space to return to dine-in but it has been difficult to find reliable workers. In the interest of keeping the quality consistent and customers happy, they’ve decided to make sacrifices to keep the business model as is for take-out only instead of scaling up with additional staff, which is such a shame given the rent in the area is not cheap and they have such a beautiful space!
When you hear “take-out only”, I know what you’re thinking, BUT I promise you this is the best takeout food you will ever have! The packaging is very well-designed to keep the flavors and ingredients at its finest! As I mentioned, I ordered the beef noodles, and typically noodle dishes are not ideal for takeout, but Asia Blue separates the soup from the noodles so that the noodles are not soggy, and even after half hour, the soup stayed warm and flavorful. The noodles also came paired with many mini side dishes as palate cleansers, which were a nice surprise.
From my conversation with the staff, I’ve also learned that this is one of the rare places that truly make their broth fresh from premium ingredients! You can be sure that it’s MSG free and packed with healthy nutrients, and that’s a quality that you can taste.
I highly recommend this place for your next ramen adventure, and I certainly will be returning again very soon to try the other menu items. 🙂
I came in just looking for a quick bite and am usually a little skeptical of Pan-Asian restaurants because some overpromise and underdeliver, especially with my experience in Missouri City/Sugar Land area.
So far I can only speak on the Hainanese chicken rice, but it was solidly one of the best I’ve had. I would have liked more rice but that’s just cause I’m a fiend, it came with a good size portion but I would gladly pay for more because it was rich with chicken essence and ginger scallion oil. I would come back again and again for this dish.
Did not really take pics because I inhaled the food but the packaging was very neat and good for preventing spillage.
I ordered the haninese chicken set based on all the positive reviews and ramen set. It taste nothing like haninese chicken, the chicken itself was pretty bad. I don’t think it’s fresh. The ginger scallion sauce that is a staple for this dish had no scallion. It was bitter. The rice tasted old too. I couldn’t finish it.
The ramen broth was definitely not from a 24 hour pork broth they claim it is.
Wouldn’t recommend especially for $19 a set.
Despite so, I really like some of the food that we have tried from the menu and I hope to try more in the future.
1. Danzai Noodle (5/5) Favorite dish so far, I would reorder again
2. Chicken Noodle Soup (4/5) abit oily I would ask to cut down on the oil in the future
3. Singapore Style Vermicelli and Seaweed Soup (4/5) I do not think this is Singapore style but it is still a good dish that’s done with curry powder. It comes in a huge bowl and it is very filling.
4. Laksa (2/5) Not to my liking. It is definitely not Malaysian style. The taste is abit too strong and thick.
5. Sichuan Spicy Wanton in Red Oil (5/5)
6. Hakka Rice Noodle Soup (2/5) It would have been a good dish but the pork taste is just too strong. Don’t think I’ll order it again.
7. Railway Porkchop Bento (4/5)
8. Boo Choy with Minced Meat (4/5)
I hope that they get to reopen the store again one day. I can’t order them as frequently as I have wished because Ubereats makes it unusually expensive!
All dishes are 3$ more expensive from the Ubereats menu. On top of that I have to pay
8.24% tax fee + 16% service fee + 15% tip + 3% delivery fee
The deep fried sesame balls with red bean paste were good but they were bite-size. Thus not worth the money.
The tofu pudding wasn’t smooth and the ginger sauce has a strange taste (not gingery taste). Can’t eat the tofu pudding without the ginger sauce because it would be tasteless.
