Asia Blue is one of those places that have authentic taste but keep a low profile because they’re more focused on delivering quality than nonessential marketing. I have passed by their restaurant many times, but it never occurred to me to go in until one day I was surprised to see them ranked in the top 100 ramen places nationally on Yelp! With less than 300 reviews, I was skeptical at first but was intrigued to give it a try, and I’m so glad that I did!

I visited on a Friday afternoon right before New Year’s and was greeted warmly by the staff inside. As I was indecisive on what to order in the ramen section, I asked the staff for suggestions. She was kind to walk me through the menu without rushing to get an order, and she mentioned that their most popular item is actually the beef noodles. That was all I needed to make a decision to try the beef noodles.

While waiting for the food, I chatted with the staff and learned that the restaurant opened right before the pandemic then shifted their model to take-out only as the pandemic begin. Since then, they’ve tried to make use of their restaurant space to return to dine-in but it has been difficult to find reliable workers. In the interest of keeping the quality consistent and customers happy, they’ve decided to make sacrifices to keep the business model as is for take-out only instead of scaling up with additional staff, which is such a shame given the rent in the area is not cheap and they have such a beautiful space!

When you hear “take-out only”, I know what you’re thinking, BUT I promise you this is the best takeout food you will ever have! The packaging is very well-designed to keep the flavors and ingredients at its finest! As I mentioned, I ordered the beef noodles, and typically noodle dishes are not ideal for takeout, but Asia Blue separates the soup from the noodles so that the noodles are not soggy, and even after half hour, the soup stayed warm and flavorful. The noodles also came paired with many mini side dishes as palate cleansers, which were a nice surprise.

From my conversation with the staff, I’ve also learned that this is one of the rare places that truly make their broth fresh from premium ingredients! You can be sure that it’s MSG free and packed with healthy nutrients, and that’s a quality that you can taste.

I highly recommend this place for your next ramen adventure, and I certainly will be returning again very soon to try the other menu items. 🙂

PSA this restaurant is currently TO GO ONLY. Don’t let that turn you away!

I came in just looking for a quick bite and am usually a little skeptical of Pan-Asian restaurants because some overpromise and underdeliver, especially with my experience in Missouri City/Sugar Land area.

So far I can only speak on the Hainanese chicken rice, but it was solidly one of the best I’ve had. I would have liked more rice but that’s just cause I’m a fiend, it came with a good size portion but I would gladly pay for more because it was rich with chicken essence and ginger scallion oil. I would come back again and again for this dish.

Did not really take pics because I inhaled the food but the packaging was very neat and good for preventing spillage.

I ordered this thru uber so cannot speak on service or atmosphere. But the food was really bad.

I ordered the haninese chicken set based on all the positive reviews and ramen set. It taste nothing like haninese chicken, the chicken itself was pretty bad. I don’t think it’s fresh. The ginger scallion sauce that is a staple for this dish had no scallion. It was bitter. The rice tasted old too. I couldn’t finish it.

The ramen broth was definitely not from a 24 hour pork broth they claim it is.

Wouldn’t recommend especially for $19 a set.

This restaurant remained closed for dine in due to lack of staffs. There are currently only two person working so even the takeaway option can take quite some time. I would suggest the owner to consider reducing the amount of options in the menu which could help reduce wait time for the customer.

Despite so, I really like some of the food that we have tried from the menu and I hope to try more in the future.

1. Danzai Noodle (5/5) Favorite dish so far, I would reorder again
2. Chicken Noodle Soup (4/5) abit oily I would ask to cut down on the oil in the future
3. Singapore Style Vermicelli and Seaweed Soup (4/5) I do not think this is Singapore style but it is still a good dish that’s done with curry powder. It comes in a huge bowl and it is very filling.
4. Laksa (2/5) Not to my liking. It is definitely not Malaysian style. The taste is abit too strong and thick.
5. Sichuan Spicy Wanton in Red Oil (5/5)
6. Hakka Rice Noodle Soup (2/5) It would have been a good dish but the pork taste is just too strong. Don’t think I’ll order it again.
7. Railway Porkchop Bento (4/5)
8. Boo Choy with Minced Meat (4/5)

I hope that they get to reopen the store again one day. I can’t order them as frequently as I have wished because Ubereats makes it unusually expensive!

All dishes are 3$ more expensive from the Ubereats menu. On top of that I have to pay
8.24% tax fee + 16% service fee + 15% tip + 3% delivery fee

I ordered delivery from Asia Blue and it came in a big box. The packaging was neat. I ordered tonkatsu ramen, deep fried sesame ball with red bean paste, and tofu pudding with ginger sauce. I love the side dishes that came with the ramen but I would prefer a ramen egg than a regular egg). The ramen noodles weren’t a lot but the ingredients (black fungus, corn, pork, and bamboo shoots) that came with the noodles were plentiful. The broth was good but towards the oily side. The pork was charred well.
The deep fried sesame balls with red bean paste were good but they were bite-size. Thus not worth the money.
The tofu pudding wasn’t smooth and the ginger sauce has a strange taste (not gingery taste). Can’t eat the tofu pudding without the ginger sauce because it would be tasteless.

I was craving ramen during this random short cold spell we’re having, and Asia Blue exceeded my expectations! I had the spicy tonkatsu (I asked for spicy – it’s not officially on the menu), and it was so so good! The broth was rich and flavorful, the noodles had just the right amount of bite, and the meat was thick, just fatty enough, and flavorful. I also loved the bamboo shoots, the texture of the egg, and the separately packed green onions and seaweed so that they would maintain their freshness and crunch. I’m not a huge eater anymore, so my one ramen lasted me both lunch and dinner (that’s why the picture of the put together ramen bowl might look a bit sparse – it’s only a half portion)! I also got a $5 side of bok choy and pork – great price and delicious!! I also loved the little sides of lotus root, seaweed, and edamame that came with the ramen. And the customer service is always on point. All in all a perfect experience!

I just happened to be in the area and being a huge ramen fan my son and I decided to take away. I was blown away with their packaging. No dripping no spilling packaging was a delight. We had beef noodle soup and it was beyond delicious. The meat was tender and the soup was on point. Would love to try their whole menu

When it comes to COVID friendly take out food. There hasn’t been a restaurant yet that has matched Asia Blue’s customer service and pickup experience. The food is fantastic. I had the Salt and Pepper Chicken (Popcorn) and the Pot Stickers. The lovely lady at the cash register was very kind and welcoming to me when I came in to pick up my order. They also had a variety of beverages in a cooling fridge at the door, creating a very easy grab and go. I can’t say I have had food to go that actually made me feel like I was doing something special. As you can see in the pictures, their packaging resembles that of a gift bag or fancy bakery containers. I genuinely loved everything about it and can’t wait to go back and try out their ramen.

The best authentic Taiwanese foods in Houston! Fist time order we got salt and pepper chicken and Taiwanese Style Vermicelli and they were beyond my expectation! It’s exactly the taste I had in a night market. The meal box makes it super easy to enjoy the food when it’s still take out only.
