I was welcomed by Francisco, when I walked in. ☺️
I arrived around 3:30 pm on a Wednesday, not busy at all.
The staff was friendly and pleasant.
Very, very clean!
I enjoyed my meal, thank you.
They also have highchairs for those with small children.
The iced caramel latte was also delicious.
Restroom very clean!
I highly recommend Nick’s Diner here on Madison Ave in Bridgeport, CT.

Ok,here we go. First the restaurant is spacious-but it was freezing inside. Although the temperature outside was about 27 degrees-it should not have been that cold. My wife and I moved our seats twice, in order to get some heat or a “hot spot”. We kept our coats and hats on and the staff tried their best to accommodate us with warmth, but it was very cold. The heaters were blowing warm air that never got hot-we were there for about forty-five minutes. Our server, Francisco was pleasant and the food was just ok, nothing out of the ordinary, (diner cuisine) and the portions were decent. We ordered:pancakes with one scrambled egg ($3.00 for a single egg add on)and hot tea, I ordered a Farmer’s Omelet which comes with homefries and toast. I wanted hot coffee, but they didn’t have any equal, so I opted for water instead. The bill came to $33.45 and we left a $4.00 tip.
That seems normal a price, based on the local diners I’ve frequented and we may return, but if its an icebox inside, we WILL NOT STAY…I will rate the dining experience a 1.25 stars out of 5 stars, the Omelet a solid 3 stars out of 5 stars, homefries rates a 2.75 stars out of 5 stars, my wife enjoyed the pancakes, so I will rate them (short stack) a 4 stars out of 5 stars. Wait staff Francisco, a solid 4.25 stars out of 5 stars, just because the worked to accommodate us as best he could, giving the freezing temperature inside. Thank you for being kind to my wife and I.

Great eclectic spot with a lot of menu options. Will definitely be returning to try more. Had to try the fish and grits. Fish was cooked really well, crispy, flaky and not greasy. Grits could have used some salt but were cooked well. Bacon cheese omelet was solid (didn’t get a photo). As I said will be returning.

New location is amazing. So spacious, right next to Fairfield, you, and parking is no longer an issue. The fish and grits hit every time. You don’t even need the extras- eggs, toast, etc. – just focus on the fish and grits. I had to order two extra pieces. It was so good. The spot can’t miss. Also customer service was amazing!

Delicious breakfast food and the best bacon. Ordered cheeseburgers with fries for dinner. They were huge and had the best grilled flavor. Very reasonably priced.

Tried this place on a whim while in the area. Definitely get the Fish (Fried Whiting) and Grits platter w 2 eggs over easy – it’s GREAT and very fairly priced. The server made a few mistakes, but they were easily fixed and she was very pleasant and nice overall. Give this place a try, it’s definitely good. Oh, their coffee is A+ too – a very nice cup o Joe, not MUDD!
